Managing Actuary, Claims Analytics
**About the Role** This is an excellent opportunity for an intellectually curious actuary to gain valuable non-traditional actuarial experience, all while working in one of Uber’s most critical and fastest-growing divisions. The Managing Actuary will join the Claims Analytics team, which works to identify and quantify the impact of emerging claims trends as well as monitor existing operations. This person will also partner closely with the Actuarial Reserving and Pricing teams, in addition to Uber’s internal and third party insurer claims teams.  So if you're ready to go deep working on a rewarding set of challenges and if you've got the skills, experience, passion, and a strong team mentality - read on and get in touch! **What you’ll do** - Employ traditional actuarial skills and training in new and innovative ways to analyze claim trends for domestic and international insurance business - Engage with counterparts to provide insightful analyses with  practical solutions to address current concerns - Identify and implement methods to automate and optimize existing processes and operations - Communicate/present analysis findings to actuarial management and other internal stakeholders - Ad hoc exploratory analysis **Basic Qualifications** - BA/BS Math, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science or similar - ACAS + 6  years of property casualty insurance experience - Excel skills, proficient with SQL (or similar querying language) - Experience with commercial or personal auto insurance **Preferred Qualifications** - FCAS designation - Experience with R, Python or similar coding language - Experience in exploratory data analysis on insurance claims - Motivation to dive into the details of analysis and learn complex topics from first principles and hands-on experience - Great communication and organization skills, ability to multitask and be a team player - Balance attention to detail with swift and practical execution - Enthusiasm about Uber! For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$178,000 per year - USD$197,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$178,000 per year - USD$197,500 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$160,000 per year - USD$177,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
