Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: In more than 100 laboratories, our scientists are conducting innovative research to advance understanding in the biological sciences and improve human health. The Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI) Staff includes 400 research fellows, and 200 graduate students (both PhDs and MD/PhDs). We have many National Academy of Sciences members and Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigators. We have cutting-edge technological recourses and promote collaboration between scientists and clinicians.

 

We are looking for a Senior Administrative assistant to join our team. The Senior Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative and operational support for The Farese & Walther Lab in our Cell Biology Program.

 

Role Overview:

Perform lab administrative support including maintaining protocols, coordinating lab visitors & lab recruit visits, and assisting with ordering necessary suppliesSupport in onboarding/offboarding of lab members Manage complex lab calendars, coordinating lab events and social functionsExhibit a sound understanding of lab operations and manage day-to-day administrative operations for the lab manager and Principal InvestigatorsAssist in the accurate preparation of complex documents and supervise the coordination and organization of timely grant submissions and similar projectsEnsure the smooth flow of communication between investigators, members of the lab, institutional contacts, and external contacts

Key Qualifications:

4-7 years of proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in an academic research environmentExperience bench science lab setting is strongly preferred

An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiencesFlexible in your approach and demeanor to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstancesAdept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goalsA good decision-maker, with shown success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forwardProactive and eager to accept new opportunities and tough challenges with high energy, and passion

Additional Information:

 

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm, onsite presence is required #LI-hybrid

 

Pay Range: $28.70 - $43.08/hour
