What is the opportunity?
Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments and treasury services. Founded in 1864, they are the 10th largest bank worldwide and the 5th in North America, as measured by market capitalization. They are among a small group of highly rated global banks and are recognized time and time again for our financial strength, market leadership and philanthropic work.
Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.

What will you do?
Provide high standard of operational support to Banking & Payment Operations team to support the growth of Business in British Isles for multiple jurisdictionsResponsible for efficient and timely processing of all Banking products (cheque clearing, BACS & Direct Debits, fixed term deposit, foreign exchanges, account transfers, standing orders) received via Online Service requestsProcess and/or verify all accounting entries accurately and to meet defined cut-off times. Communicate all delays to local managementEnsure rates are updated in core system upon request and accurate processing of cheque book ordersValidation of all inward SWIFT and BACS payments observing UK payment regulationsProcess validation of account closure requests, apply interest and making final payment where requiredPromptly ensure completion of filing & scanning in accordance with PolicyEnsure all transactions are processed in accordance to the bank rule, desk top guidelines, and regulatory requirementsProvide relief support and other duties as assigned on all functions performed within the team and across the departmentEnsure EOD checks are conducted daily with any outstanding issues identified and action on the same dayEnsure all unreconciled items and outstanding breaks are investigated and accounted forAll charges pertaining to client transactions and payments are accounted for and ensure entries are processedEnsure proper escalation of issues / risks to managementOther duties as assigned by managementWhat do you need to succeed?

Fast learner for new processing tasks assignedBe able to work with minimal supervisionAdherence to procedures and control processesAbility to complete ad-hoc tasks and project deliverables by deadlines and achieve performance targets setStrong working knowledge in MS Outlook / MS Word / MS ExcelStrong working knowledge in SWIFT, Banking products and International paymentsStrong problem solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research and quantitative skillsStrong system knowledgePreferred
Diploma / Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline preferredSelf-motivated and able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environmentMinimum 2 years of working experiences within a Private Bank or Wealth Management environmentGood inter-personal and communication skills (written and verbal)What’s in it for you?
