You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager within the Electronic Solutions Strategic Business Unit (SBU). The Electronic Solutions SBU at Honeywell houses a robust portfolio of technology solutions, including integrated avionics offerings, navigation, safety and surveillance solutions, flight management systems, flight controls and synthetic vision display technologies, manned/unmanned and satellite applications, and our space technologies. Approximately 90% of global aircraft use Honeywell Avionics, and around 80% of satellites in orbit have Honeywell components on board.
In this role, you will have a significant impact on the development and delivery of space and defense products. Your designs will contribute to the advancement of technology and the enhancement of safety and security in the aerospace industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop innovative mechanical designs for space and defense products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
• Conduct analysis and simulations to validate design performance
• Create detailed engineering drawings, bills of material and documentation
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise and guidance
YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced mechanical design engineering
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies
• Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools (e.g., CREO, NX, Ansys)
• Experience in the design of space or defense products but not essential
• Knowledge of PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP)
