The Senior Advisor, Job Evaluation leads and oversees the development, implementation, and management of senior leader job evaluation frameworks to ensure consistency, equity and alignment with organizational goals. The role requires expertise in applying modern job evaluation tools, analyzing roles, and conducting organizational analyses, across the enterprise. The role proactively partners with business and HR leaders and completes strategic work to deliver business results and/or minimize risk. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytics, communications and stakeholder management skills, and an extensive understanding of the financial industry and/or large multi-national financial organizations.

Provides advice and counsel on job evaluation, organization design and organization effectiveness opportunities to execute the HR strategy and business/group strategy. Completes specific strategic / operational work to deliver business results and/or minimize risk.

Job evaluation focus areas:

Operates at an enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.Conduct comprehensive senior leader job evaluations using established methodologies (e.g., Hay).Develop and maintain senior leader job descriptions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.Collaborate with Executive Talent Management, Executive Services, Compensation and other HR teams to align job evaluation outcomes with respective areas.Develop, maintain and implement job evaluation policies and procedures; ensure compliance with relevant organizational policies.Maintain and update job data in Workday relative to senior leader roles.Partner with HR business partners and business leaders to provide guidance on job design and role evaluation.Facilitate education for stakeholders to promote understanding of job evaluation processes.Work with leaders at all levels in the organization and demonstrates confidence and interpersonal skills to effectively challenge senior leaders when necessary, while remaining open to constructive feedback and challenges from others, fostering a culture of mutual respect and growth.Maintain accurate records of job evaluation activities and outcomes.Prepare reports for leadership on job evaluation insights and recommendations.Lead the annual external survey matching process for senior leader rolesMaintain a network of external industry contacts to enable the sharing of best-practices

Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.Provides advice and guidance on implementation of wide range of organization solutions; includes organization efficiency (e.g., number of layers, span of control, compression) and organization effectiveness (e.g., role clarity, accountabilities, decision making authority & collaboration) and organization development.Leads the execution of operational programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution.Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.Supports development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Provides thoughtful and effective coaching to senior leaders to maximize skills/capabilities of the group and creates an environment of high performance and openness.Reviews the program for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required.Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.Monitors and tracks performance on organization health & executive portfolio health, and addresses any issues.Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.Networks with industry contacts to gather and identify competitive insights and best practices.Enhances subject matter expertise and keeps abreast of organization design trends by reading journals and articles, and assisting in the research, assessment and BMO-customization of internal and external information relevant to the theory and practice of organization design.Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.Implements changes in response to shifting trends.Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Expert knowledge of job evaluation frameworks and tools.In-depth/Expert knowledge of organization design/organization development principles, process and methodology.Research skills - In-depth/Expert.Design thinking - In-depth/Expert.Organizational understanding – In-depth / ExpertSeasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.Able to manage ambiguity.Data driven decision making - In-depth / Expert.Detail orientation – In-depth / Expert

Salary:

$84,000.00 - $156,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
