Position Summary
This position will be a key resource for execution on initiatives impacting Supply Chain and Organizational Client Network Strategy. This position is responsible for consulting with cross-functional partners and clients on pharmacy network contracting initiatives in order to drive contract negotiations and execution with external Independent pharmacies. This position may manage input from cross- functional strategic projects, provide content/idea creation, and be responsible for managing and synthesizing strategic topics for our external Independent pharmacies in order to drive contract execution and assist these pharmacies with navigating the Contracts received. They will be responsible for engaging with our external Independent pharmacies to align on initiative-specific contracts, navigating through the negotiation process with our Independent Pharmacies through contract execution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages contracting and negotiations with Independent Pharmacy Providers, including reviewing language adjustment request with Legal and Leadership.Builds relationships that nurture Independent Pharmacy partnerships.Initiates and maintains effective channels of communication with matrix partners including but not limited to. Credentialing, Legal, Compliance, Pricing and Finance and external Independent Providers.Manages strategic positioning for provider contracting and assists with development of networks.Contributes to the development of alternative network initiatives. Supports and provides direction to develop contract strategy required for the network solution.Works with internal partners to analyze and review impact of proposed alternate contract terms.Assists in resolving elevated and complex Pharmacy contract complaints. Research problems and negotiates with internal/external partners/customers to resolve highly complex and/or escalated issues.Manages Independent Pharmacy relationships and is accountable for critical interface with providers and business staff.Handles a high-pressure environment with multiple competing priorities.Synthesizes complex concepts into a digestible pharmacy-facing message.Stays abreast of the changing healthcare landscape in order to provide relevant network strategy guidance.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.6+ years relevant work experience with proven track record of success or Master’s degree with 4+ years relevant experience.Law Degree preferred but not requiredDemonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and indirectly lead others effectively (e.g. leading without direct authority).Extensive negotiating and contract management skillsStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Excellent verbal and written communication and cross-functional interaction skills, including presentation.Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage specific deliverables and workload within an environment of tight deadlines.Ability to manage complex analysis from issue identification to proposal of potential solutions and work collaboratively with other departments and/or providers to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
