The ideal candidate brings with them strong pipeline industry experience, training and presentation skills, ability to work with multiple stakeholders and the combined knowledge of regulatory and compliance aspects in addition to computer science. The role focuses on enhancing our records management system and processes. It involves migrating current records to a centralized repository, improving stakeholder interactions by managing Meridian's reconfiguration, and developing a user-friendly search interface. Additionally, the position includes training staff on AI and machine learning advancements.

What You Will Do:

Project manage the development of the Meridian search platform to enhance search capabilities.

Provide guidance on the design, development of a machine learning model to classify records and extract metadata and provide recommendations for project decisions.

Oversee the processing of 1.5 million files for classification and metadata extraction.

Optimize machine learning models to improve performance and accuracy.

Project manage the reconfiguration of the Meridian records' repository to improve its functionality and performance.

Who You Are:

Hold a university degree/technical degree in engineering and/or university degree/technical degree/diploma in computer science/engineering.

Minimum 6 years’ directly related experience within the pipeline industry, OR equivalent combination of formal education, certification, and experience

Technical knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements (CER - Canada Energy Regulator, DOT – Department of Transportation, PHMSA – Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, & CFR – Community of Federal Regulators) and assets information associated with an operating pipeline

Solid knowledge of NLP - Natural Language Processing and chatbot development

Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) search algorithms and techniques.

Working knowledge of engineering content management systems (MAXIMO, Meridian), is preferred

Extensive computer work

Approximately 10% of travel may be required to field offices, business offices, or conferences within Canada and the U.S. Valid passport is required.
