Job Description Summary:
The Senior Advisor, will assist and advise the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for National Security Initiatives. They will also assist in creating, strengthening, and or maintaining relationships with strategic partners across the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE). Responsibilities:- Advises on strategic planning for System Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) engagement including the development of short-term and long-term goals and objectives for the engagement with the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE).- Creates, strengthen and maintains relationships with entities in the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) for the System. Works with corporate partners, government agencies, and consultants to support the planning, development, and execution of strategic projects.- Recommends new programs, opportunities and or policies or revisions of such.- Stays abreast of technical developments in the field and advises on strategic technical areas to engage with the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) and to ensure that the System maintains relevant expertise.- Serves on various State, National, and International Boards and Committees, as a representative of the System, to gain additional knowledge to impart to the Sr Associate Vice Chancellor and other System leadership as appropriate.- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: - PhD degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ten years of related experience working with the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE).
- High level executive role within the NSE including significant responsibility and authority.
Registration, Certifications, and Licenses:
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Extensive knowledge of the Nuclear Security Enterprise and the numerous Labs, Plants, Sites and industry partners, as well as the Department of Defense.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer twenty years of related experience.
Other Requirements:
This position is part time (20 hours/week or less) and non-budgeted.
