Are you ready to take your career to the next level? FTI is seeking a talented professional with expertise in Hypersonics related research and development. We want to meet you to discuss a position we are looking to fill in Alexandria, Virginia as a Full time Specialty Projects Lead supporting the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OSD) R&E Joint Hypersonics Transition Office (JHTO).  This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on the success of a high-profile DoD program with Congressional mandates for the continual improvements in DoD Hypersonic Weapons Systems.  Our ideal candidate will have a conceptual understanding of engineering principles and general knowledge of aerospace engineering, including principles of weight, lift, drag, thrust, and other aerodynamic characteristics in the design of hypersonic vehicles. 

 

Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

Lead, coordinate and manage Specialty Projects sponsored by the JHTO that further enable the innovation and workforce needed to advance modern hypersonic flight systems in support of National Defense.  Examples include, but are not limited to:

External Coordination and fostering of Partnerships to include International Engagements and other agencies active in the Hypersonics Community.  Serve as the DC representative for high profile University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics (UCAH) investment projects, coordinating execution and driving success.  Curate relevant projects that recapture SBIR/STTR funds.Coordinate development and delivery of Technical Reports and journals for the UCAH and JHTO. Education/Qualifications

Required:

Qualified candidates must possess an Active security clearance (Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI), and be located within a commutable distance to Alexandria, VA.Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) in Engineering, Science or Technology.15+ years of relevant experience.Demonstrated ability to interface with senior leadership within the government, federally funded research and development centers, or government. support/development contractors.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in MS Office products and other relevant software.
