Senior Aerospace Laboratory Instrumentation Technician

Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior Laboratory Instrumentation Technician to join them. You will report to our Site Test Equipment Sustainment Manager. You will have an onsite work schedule at Moog aerospace plant in Torrance, CA. 

To be considered, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

·       Associate Engineering Degree or equivalent training plus 8 years or more experience as a technician in mechanical, hydraulic or electromechanical fields.

·       A working knowledge of basic electronic and hydraulic circuits is required as well as knowledge of the application and operation of electronic, mechanical and hydraulic instrumentation.

·       Experience in the proper use of hand tools and instruments common to the mechanical and electronic trades.

·       Current Security Clearance or the ability to pass a background check to obtain a Security Clearance

·       Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

As a Senior Laboratory Instrumentation Technician, you will:

·          Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of test equipment with minimal or no direct supervision.

·          Apply a sound technical approach and good judgment to test equipment problems and make recommendations for functional and process improvements.

·          Work under the general supervision of the Test Equipment Sustainment Manager. On assignments which are less difficult technically, the technician may assume full responsibility.

·          Perform the required operations to maintain diversified mechanical, hydraulic and electrical test equipment, systems and power supplies used throughout the company. 

·          Work with Sustainment, Engineering, Operations and Metrology team members to define, procure, calibrate, and deploy replacement equipment when existing devices are no longer supportable due to age and/or obsolescence.

·          Work with the Test Systems group to learn the maintenance and repair processes for soon-to-be or newly deployed test equipment and provide feedback to them for creating and revising operating instructions which may not be completely developed.

·          Work safely at all times and be aware of and avoid hazards such as exposed circuits, high pressures, high and low temperatures and the potential for rotating equipment and crushing motions, and promptly raise awareness with supervision and teammates of any unsafe conditions observed.

·          Provide input to the Sustainment team to maintain an inventory of special parts and operating supplies required for test equipment operation and maintenance.

Salary Range:

Pay range for this opportunity is $80,000-$100,000 annually. 

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits. 

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information. This position requires security clearance.
