MongoDB PS exists to support the development of our customers’ vision, accelerate customers’ time to value, and drive a multitude of customer adoption scenarios – from building new innovative AI solutions to modernizing legacy applications or migrating to the cloud. As the Senior Application Architect, you will support the ideation of high-priority customer initiatives that drive adoption of MongoDB and GenAI - from understanding the business problem to designing the solution and its associated implementation roadmap
This role can be based out of one our offices in Eastern or Central time zones or remotely in these time zones.
**Position Expectations**
+ Stay at the forefront of the industry by leveraging the latest GenAI advancements and cutting-edge developments to fulfill ambitious innovation projects
+ Provide strategic consulting on data modernisation and data strategy, ensuring customers are set up for success with AI applications, net new applications and modernized applications
+ Design solutions that drive business value through incremental data-driven technological innovation, leveraging proven GenAI and MongoDB reference architectures
+ Detail scope and estimate effort to develop meaningful product increments that reflect the customer’s business priorities, articulating relevant design decisions and technical or organizational interdependencies
+ Provide technical direction and authority to the whole delivery team (to developers, the project manager and other customer and executive stakeholders)
+ Build a demo and a prototype of the solution leveraging existing assets and a GenAI assisted development process as well as (internal or partner) developers when needed
+ Adopt an advisory and prescriptive approach that inspires trust and confidence
+ Actively drive the technical part of backlog grooming, sprint planning, and showcases alongside the Product Owner/Manager, providing ideas, suggestions and guidance to the rest of the team
+ Actively contribute to the relevant community of practice with a view to drive thought leadership and innovation within PS, the wider MongoDB ecosystem and our customers
+ Innovate development processes, technologies, and project approaches as they evolve, especially from emerging GenAI capabilities
+ Develop and maintain a repository of reusable solution components
+ Operate in a small, dynamic, fast-growing team, ability to be self-sufficient with a can-do attitude and making oneself accountable
**Requirements**
+ 5+ years of application ideation & development experience preferably with tech savvy consulting firms, with 3+ years of experience as an Application Architect or Technical Lead, designing and building solutions for large-scale, technologically sophisticated accounts and/or Enterprise market customers
+ Strong strategic thinking capabilities to understand and align technical work with business goals
+ History of designing and delivering high-cadence modern cloud native applications with applied agile methodologies, test-first development approaches, adopting CI/CD
+ Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and deployment/operational considerations
+ Working knowledge of microservices architectures and Domain-Driven Design approaches
+ Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems
+ Solid understanding and ability to code with two or more modern scripting languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript/Node.js) and/or popular programming languages (e.g. Java, C#)
+ Strong written, verbal and presentation skills when collaborating with team members and external stakeholders within the wider MongoDB organization and the customer’s organization
+ Ability to work remotely as well as accommodate up to 20% travel to customer sites for onsite workshops
**Nice-to-have skills**
+ Experience in emerging GenAI technologies and approaches
+ Practical experience of using MongoDB
+ Experience in projects with a high degree of uncertainty (research and innovation)
+ Apart from English, proficiency in other languages would be a plus (e.g. Spanish, Italian, German, Mandarin)

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:
$118,000—$231,000 USD
