What you'll do:
· Line/coat interior surfaces of tank cars using airless spray equipment.
· Mix and apply cold set and phenolic materials.
· Apply all layers (prime, intermediate and top) with consistently defect free results.
· Employees at this level require no supervision and give direction to Interior Preppers and other
· Interior Liners by regularly performing as team leader of a three member working unit involved
· In preparing and lining cars.
· Observes all standard safety practices.
· Maintain and complete all required records.
What you’ll need:
· Complete understanding of pre-bake and final bake of forced cure linings, equipment sizing (tip
· size, pump pressure, pump ratio, etc.).
· Ability to mix all lining materials and the effects of temperature and humidity.
· Ability to operate small power tools.
· Knowledge of proper preparation of tank cars for lining.
· Knowledge of and ability to perform emergency rescue operations.
· Must pass level 2 coatings certification test (normally acquired with 3 years’ experience).
· Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment is beneficial
· Previous experience in rail or steel manufacturing industry is a plus!
