Position Summary:
The Data Management Analyst will execute the responsibilities of Data Cataloging, Data Quality (DQ), and Master Data Management (MDM). The Analyst will partner with business stakeholders within data projects to catalog their data, implement DQ rules, and document master and reference data. This will involve executing the processes with them as well as training them going forward.
Position Responsibilities:
Catalog data assets and critical data elements, execute hands-on tasks including writing definitions, asset tagging, glossary management, DQ rules, and lineageResearch to find requested data assets in the organizationUnderstand stakeholders and information experts across the enterprise to catalog and maintain metadata definitions and quality thresholds, train those data experts and create effective Data Management processesMonitor and report DQ issues including case management help desk and root cause analysisManage MDM operational processes, such as match-merge-exception resolutionSupport the needs of the Data Governance Committee members: recommend projects for improvement (data asset research, data quality rule automation, master data sets, new policies and standards), maintain the enterprise data risk log, prepare presentations and agendas for their considerationSupport compliance with Data Governance policies and standardsDevelop and maintain Data Governance procedures to enable and support franchises in the business units across the enterprisePosition Requirements:
Data Governance
5-8 years of delivering complex enterprise data solutions (governance, management, quality, analytics, etc.)Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Computer Science, MIS or Business; in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 6 years related experience requiredExperience executing data governance processes across multiple business units with modern environments, Big Data and traditional DW environments supporting Data Governance and master data management principles and techniquesExperience with Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) tools for cataloging, DQ, and MDM (Informatica experience a plus)Experience with metadata, glossary, data lineage, data quality, reference data, master data, data modeling, and data analyticsBusiness and Data Analysis
Formulate a deep understanding of opportunities or challenges, translating them into actionable definitions (user stories, use cases, architecture sketches, processes etc.) of solution conceptsPro-actively identify and resolve issues and risks through refined or new requirement definitions and/or mitigation plans as definitions are elaborated into working solutionsWork with and provide structure to ambiguity, bringing others along in progressing toward achieving target outcomesDesign, document, and establish agreement on solution concepts for complex systems problems using business analysis skillsProven ability to work across departments collaboratively to resolve issues, drive issues to closure, achieve desired results/goals, and/or implement change as neededLeadership & Communication

When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
