Hulu Subscriber Planning is a highly visible team of professionals with backgrounds in consulting, investment banking, private equity, media & entertainment, and technology who serve as in-house advisers to the Disney Streaming Services’ executive leadership and own subscriber planning for Hulu SVOD and Live businesses. The team’s activities and accomplishments have contributed to the rapid growth and success of the Disney Streaming Services.
Job Summary:
Hulu’s Subscriber Planning team is seeking a strong candidate who will be an exceptional addition to our team of strategic finance professionals. In this role, you will support Hulu’s subscriber growth by assisting the team with the subscriber planning and forecasting processes for Hulu’s SVOD and Live subscription businesses, the performance reporting of Hulu subscription KPIs, the preparation of presentation materials for executive leadership, the optimization of internal processes, and working cross-functionally on exciting ad-hoc analyses. The right person for this role has phenomenal analytical and problem-solving skills, outstanding communication skills, great attention to detail, strong financial and business acumen, and excitement for the streaming industry. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Maintain and enhance Hulu’s operating model with focus on key underlying subscription and marketing metricsLeverage our internal subscriber KPI database for performance reporting of Hulu subscription KPIs, ad-hoc analyses, and requestsPrepare impactful, compelling presentation materials (decks, notes, write-ups, backup materials) for senior executive leadership, which effectively communicate subscriber projections, drivers, business performance, risks & opportunitiesDevelop strategic models to support new business cases and marketing/distribution initiativesBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier school with a major in Business, Finance, Economics or similar discipline with an analytical biasMinimum three years of strategy or finance experience and proven track record with a top tier tech or media & entertainment firm, management consultancy or investment bank / private equity firmStrong analytical capabilities and financial modeling skills (MS Excel), including the ability to build models from scratchStrong verbal and written communication skills (including PowerPoint) and ability to simplify complex matters for an executive audiencePreferred Qualifications:
Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and also with other business unitsAbility to juggle multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping management properly informedFamiliarity with working in or with global, large organizations is a plusThe hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $103,500 to $138,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
