The Payroll Operations Team within the Employee Experience Tower contributed to the delivery of payroll for Diageo across Europe & Africa; constantly liaising with 3rd party Service Providers.
The team works within an uncompromising pay cycle time frame, providing a consistently reliable and accurate service within a dynamic environment from both ongoing legislative and Policy changes.

The role will be responsible to ensure timely and accurate payments made to all Diageo Employees in scopeb) Market Complexity -
Liaising with employees across the business and multiple countriesPartnering with outsourced payroll provider on all the above payrolls. Complexity – Answering tax queries, maternity and other LOA questions, calculating advances, collating overtime and following monthly checklists and calendars to ensure all data processed accurately and within agreed timeframes. Completing in a compliant manner following our GBP Payroll controls.High degree of technical knowledge required on multi country payrollsc) Relationships -
Liaising and building relationships with Diageo internal teams both upstream and downstream, specifically market HR, technical and finance functions, work towards simplifying the ways of workingBuild and maintain excellent relationship with concerned payroll providerSupport and coach team members on the payroll technical queriesPurpose of Role
To provide a professional and high-quality payroll administration service which enables payments to our employees accurately and on time.To be able to provide technical expertise to a higher degree on the local market nuances so that we can meet the obligations agreed.Individuals must work in a compliant manner and ensure all checklists, calendars, variance reporting, KPI’s and journals are completed on time and accurately to ensure we meet our internal and external facing compliance controls.Roles and Responsibilities
Validate the payrolls inputs (from business teams) and outputs (from the vendors) and administer accurate and timely payrolls for the countries assignedPrepare detailed variance analysis for quality analysisInteraction and relationship management with the payroll service providers of the countries assignedA quality mindset, eye for detail in delivering the payrolls in line with the compliance requirements and service at the heart of everything we doEnsure all employee queries are answered in time, co-ordinating with vendorsComplete tasks in a compliant manner ensuring adherence to Data Privacy and Compliance principles.Handle payroll audit (internal & external) for the regionManage the payment setup for markets assignedProvide root cause analysis on the issues identified and ensure that the team members are made aware of the issuesCollaborate with the wider GBO/Market teams to provide solutions to issues identifiedStandardize, help document, challenge status quo and repeat the cycleFamiliar with Payroll year end activitiesAbility to adapt to changes, if required by businessShould be flexible to accommodate time based on region supportingAttention to minute details and good thought processResponsible for payment setup for all vendors and reconciliationsResponsible for CARM control execution for the assigned marketsBe available for any data collation as part of the annual activities and audit support activitiesPlay a pivotal role in supporting finance team to close any finance reconciliation issues.All queries from employees and other key stakeholders are resolved satisfactorily within agreed timelines Maintain technical knowledge of Statutory payments and deductionsQualifications and Experience Required
3-5 years of Experience in Payroll Processing for a particular region(Global)Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent from an accredited university Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across geographies and culturesAbility to quickly understand and apply market legislation affecting payroll and statutory reporting.MS Office expertiseGood at MS Office toolsWorking knowledge on ServiceNow ticketing systemAbility to understand complex payroll environments and uncover issues, process problemsComfortable talking with internal & external teams and building linksAbility to work in a fast paced, changing environment while still providing quality servicesStrong high-reaching personality, self-motivated and self-managingStrong written and verbal communication, as wells as time management skillsStrong team orientation and ability to build cross-functional relationshipsBe able to take the lead in making improvements and resolving issuesExperience in responding to vendor & employee queries through email or ticketing systemAbility to handle multiple countries with strong prioritization skillsAbility to make sophisticated situations simple and facilitate clear, fact-based decision makingWorker Type :
