Reporting to the Payroll Manager within the OMERS People Experience team, the Senior Payroll Analyst will support the implementation of Workday payroll for OMERS and Oxford, with a primary focus on Canadian and US employees. The Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in data analysis, process documentation, staff training, and troubleshooting, ensuring that the new payroll operations are accurate, compliant, and efficient. This position aims to enhance the overall payroll function, contributing to improved employee experience and operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

Conduct data analysis, testing and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll dataProvide support in the migration of payroll data from legacy systems to new platformsDevelop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new payroll processesAssist with training and supporting staff on new payroll systems and proceduresTroubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues during the transformation and implementation processEnsure compliance with all relevant payroll regulations and standards Maintain accurate project status throughout the payroll transformation projectSupport with other project management and change management activities, as required

Skills & Experience:

Strong communication and interpersonal skillsProven experience in payroll management and transformation projects, preferably with large-scale payroll transformationsProficiency with PC and payroll software and tools, specificallyWorkday: Experience with Workday's Payroll SKU, data integration, and configurable frameworksDayforce: Familiarity with Dayforce's HCM platform, specifically the Payroll moduleMicrosoft Office SuiteWeb tools for conferencing and trainingPrevious industry experience with Financial Services is preferredStrong understanding of payroll systems, processes, and regulations.Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task under tight deadlinesAbility to manage project completion with short tunaroundStrong interpersonal and time management skills for dealing with all employees within the organizationSelf-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision
