Why this role is important?

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Pharmacy Planning & Insights, the incumbent is responsible for providing insights and supporting the financial reporting processes for Shoppers and Loblaw pharmacy professional services. They are also responsible for identifying opportunities to drive pharmacy’s performance. The ideal candidate is someone with an analytical mindset and a proven ability to quickly grasp an unstructured situation, drive insights from both quantitative and qualitative information available, and present results and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders.

What you will do:

Support the financial and planning processes for pharmacy – annual and multiyear plans, periodic forecast and analysis of actual resultsPerform analyses on key drivers (e.g., payor, services, etc.) of overall and/or store-specific pharmacy performanceProvide insights and recommendations on the impact to the business of pricing/reimbursement changes, third party contracts and regulatory changes through analysis and modelingSynthesize large amounts of complex data from multiple sources, extrapolate appropriate information and develop concise and easy to understand explanations of business results, opportunities and recommendations for senior level stakeholdersDevelop complex models to assess enterprise total pharmacy market performance, category trends and market share and to assist in strategic business decision makingAdvance departmental capabilities and team efficiency and performance through:enhancing the reporting systems and software capabilitiesCollaborates closely with internal departments and subject matter experts to proactively identify & resolve issues, identify opportunities and process improvements

What you will need:

Two (2) to (4) years of business analysis, finance or planning experienceKnowledge of pharmaceutical or retail industry is an assetPost secondary education equivalent to a university degree in business, finance or economicsStrong analytical skills - the ability to leverage data, experience and industry knowledge to provide actionable insights and recommendations, as well as to identify financial/business implications to senior managementDemonstrated attention to detailClear and concise communication and presentation skillsHigh level of initiative to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision Advanced computer skills to produce reports, documents and presentations, as required:Expert knowledge MS Office software (including Excel and PowerPoint)Programming experience (e.g., VBA macro, Python, SQL),Knowledge of relevant database and Business Intelligence software applications (including Teradata, PowerBI and Microstrategy), and/or experience with statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, etc.) would be an assetAbility to set and prioritize work amid competing demandsAbility to work with diverse personalities and styles
