Position Details

The Operations Support team drives the success of this fulfillment network by providing clear visibility into operational health, identifying, and driving performance improvements to ensure Grainger delivers the best service to our customers at the lowest cost.

 

As the Senior Analyst, Process Compliance & Quality you will perform projects and activities focused on building and maintaining a system for process governance and operational compliance that measures and drives standardization and process health across our fulfillment network, ensuring our operations perform consistently and deliver at a high level of quality.  Scope of work will include defining measures for process health and consistency, implementing effective measures and inspection, supporting initiatives to eliminate process variation and waste, and executing a well-governed system for process documentation and maintenance.  This role will support a strategic and enterprise-wide scope with significant impact to our distribution operations, and as such will have high visibility and exposure to leaders and team members at all levels. 

  You will report to a Senior Manager, Process Compliance & Quality. The position is hybrid, and the primary location will be Lake Forest, IL or any Distribution Center or Branch Network location across North America with the ability to work from home (2) days per week. Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for the position is $78,200.00 to $130,400.00. This position is eligible for participating in our short-term incentive program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The range provided is not a guarantee of compensation. The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills. The anticipated compensation range described above is subject to change and the compensation ultimately paid may be higher or lower than the range described above.

You Will

Drives initiatives and executes processes to create and maintain effective process governance across our DC and branch network, including documentation, maintenance, and monitoring of core processes.   Supports the build and monitoring of a robust quality management system that efficiently leverages metrics and inspection to evaluate the health of our end-to-end fulfillment processes. Leverages process expertise to identify measures to systematically evaluate and detect process deviation and performance variance. Detects system waste and rework, supporting root cause analyses as needed to inform mitigation and remediation measures that may include process change, training and coaching. Partners appropriately to support initiatives and solutions to improve performance and operational health. Supports internal and external audit processes as needed to ensure successful compliance. Supports maintenance of a process for document governance, ensuring all operational processes are clearly defined, well documented and effectively maintained. 

You Have

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science or engineering. MS, ME or MBA preferred. 3-5 years of experience in Process Improvement, Quality Management, Operations, Change Management, Business Transformation or similar. Demonstrated operations, analytical, and problem-solving skills including KPI development, reporting, and root cause analysis. Proven experience supporting process improvement and change management initiatives with a track record of successful outcomes. Demonstrated end-to-end thinking while executing tactical change. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and achieve buy-in across a variety of levels and departments, including senior leadership, technical personnel, and specialists. Strong communication skills with the ability to present to various levels and groups. Industrial Distribution or Business-to-Business experience preferred. High levels of organization and strong attention to detail. Flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time across North America most of which would be in the United States of America.
