Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards. **This role in summary** Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates to join our Global Strategic Sourcing, as a Sr. Buyer over Marketing & Sales within the Indirect Procurement organization. The role is located in Monterrey, Mexico. The category lead will complement Whirlpool’s Brand, Product, Sales, and World of Whirlpool (WoW) Studios business requirements with clear strategy, sourcing initiatives, supplier identification and commercial contracting. Whirlpool’s Marketing Procurement Category Management role requires strong collaboration with Brand & Product Marketing, Sales business function leaders, and now with Whirlpool’s new internal Agency, WoW Studios, to deliver Whirlpool’s Corporate Imperatives. The role will optimize +$150M annual spend for NAR & LAR N Regions, while playing a critical role in supporting the continued transition of insourcing our Creative, Strategy, Production, and Consumer Experience to WoW Studios. The role will report to the Sr. Manager of Marketing & Sales within the Procurement Organization. The Marketing Procurement Category has special emphasis, but not limited to: Ad/Creative/PR Agencies, Media, Production, Talent, Commercial Print, Fulfillment, Promotional, Exhibitor/Trade Shows, Market Research, Digital, etc. The Category Leader is responsible and accountable to lead category strategies, sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, and contracting aligned to Policy and KPI. The role is highly cross functional and requires the ability to lead the right outcomes for Business Functions, Global Strategic Sourcing, and Whirlpool Corporation. This leader will support/lead National, Regional, and Global initiatives to deliver company imperatives. **Your responsibilities will include** Drive supplier performance management and commercial relationships. Collaborate and influence internal Business Stakeholders and Suppliers. Provide leadership and management for procurement projects and initiatives. Drive extraordinary results for cost savings, quality, and delivery KPI. Drive change, compliance, and continuous improvement. Lead category activities by: Very strong management systems, governance, and controls. Developing and implementing category strategies to drive direction and results. Prioritize resources and critical projects in adherence to objectives and milestones. Optimizing sourcing projects, key initiatives, and supplier negotiations. Conduct market insights and deliver risk mitigation plans and actions. Negotiate contracts and/or statements of work between Whirlpool and suppliers. Drive and deliver substantial supply base reduction through strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders and suppliers. Respond to and resolve day-to-date operational supply base challenges. Key Deliverables: Achieve 3.5%+ year-over-year cost reductions across Marketing & Sales categories. Achieve 25%+ Supplier Base Rationalization to grow strategic partnerships and drive compliance. Develop and execute detailed sourcing strategies across key categories that are required to deliver objectives. Partner with key stakeholders to improve cross-functional engagement and productivity. **Minimum requirements** Bachelor’s Degree 4+ years of experience in Procurement, Business, Finance or Marketing **Preferred skills and experiences** Interpersonal, motivational, and influential skills to engage and build rapport with business Excellent written and verbal communication (English language), with proficient PC related skills Successful negotiation experience, contract development and execution and conflict resolution Interpret and manipulate data with strong analytical skills Project management in adherence to objectives and milestones Manage, prioritize, and execute multiple key activities Experience and or knowledge with Marketing related services Experience using ERP systems, familiarity with e-sourcing tools A strong application of strategic RFP processes, supplier management, and other procurement principles Ability to understand Whirlpool business environment, requirements, and corporate culture Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously Strong planning, organizational, managing, financial, and analytical skills Strong leadership attributes and decision-making abilities Strong customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the business **What we offer** **Additional information** Connect with us and learn more about Whirlpool Corporation See what it's like to work at Whirlpool by visiting Whirlpool Careers (http://www.whirlpoolcareers.com/) .
