Safety metrics and measurement are an integral part of establishing strong performance in Safety. By leveraging data and reporting techniques, this position is responsible for understanding requirements and reporting Safety related data using complex analysis of datasets in areas of risk and incident management, and other enterprise functions. Strong aptitude for distilling large amounts of data into a meaningful report is critically important. This position requires understanding of advanced methods to analyze and interpret data from various sources with an outcome to measure success and solve business needs. This position ensures data integrity by implementing quality assurance best practices and appropriate methods to create consistent, repeatable reports. This role acts as the liaison between the safety department and the MV Team to ensure alignment of reporting with other corporate functions.

 Responsibilities: 

Manages and directs the daily operations of the department’s data & business intelligence reports/communications. Reviews and monitors business operations through data analytics and business intelligence applications and methodologies. Communicates findings to appropriate personnel for action to reduce risk/exposure to the business.Works with safety and operations teams and internal departments to identify and manage opportunities for analytics and performance measurements relating to safety and risk reporting.Generates reports and analyzes data to provide assessments of Safety performance and inform stakeholders to more effectively make data driven decisions.Support our stakeholders in the field with report requests, etc. and collaborate with cross-functional departments including IT and Data Analytics/Data Governance.Oversee the execution of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and end of year reports to assist with goal and performance planning for the next fiscal year.Generate and improve existing standard reports, make recommendations and develop innovative reports, and analyze data to measure and provide accurate and consistent assessment of H&S data.Manage safety applications to ensure reporting output is defined and produces meaningful data/dashboards.Audit and review data to ensure data integrity in various systems.Apply data governance standards and utilize standardized process to ensure data integrity.Create business driven dashboards and reports for repeatable use by Safety& Quality teams, Senior Leadership Teams, Best Practice Groups, corresponding business partners across the enterprise.The ability to define standards for services / work processes and manage activities and people in a manner that effectively achieves those standards. The ability to conduct and/or lead root cause analysis. This entails the ability to clarify a situation, seek that information from appropriate sources, and skillfully pose questions to draw out pertinent information.Effective communication skills including the ability to express oneself clearly in conversations and interactions with others; the ability to convey concepts and information in business writing; and the ability to plan and deliver communications / presentations that impact and / or persuade the intended audience.The ability to build and foster collaborative relationships by developing, maintaining, and strengthening partnerships inside or outside the organization.The ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies.The ability to professionally demonstrate concern for satisfying one’s external and/or internal customers.The ability to establish a clear vision for safety metrics to the business unit and foster team work to lead others in pursuit of that vision. This entails the ability to develop and clearly communicate goals that support the business objectives. Drives for results and holds others accountable to ensure success.

Talent Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required in related field (Business, Technology, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or Mathematics, Safety)Four (4)+ years of general reporting experience in an Analyst or related role.Exceptional quantitative and analytic skills with high degree of attention to detail.Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), inclusive of pivot tables, charts/graphs for reporting, and data visualization tools such as Power BI.Proficiency in working with very large data sets, developing tools for streamlined analysis and creating reports that succinctly summarize complex concepts.Ability to identify and interpret data and identify patterns in data or processes.
