The opportunity:
This position is responsible for managing the 0-12 month supply and demand plan for Smurfit WestRock’s nearly one million annual tons of kraft paper capacity including incorporating the sales forecast for several hundred customers, understanding sourcing requirements across eight paper machines, checking and adjusting against variances to the plan, projecting monthly invoicing, and aligning with cross-functional groups on the plan and execution. Additionally, this position will be responsible for maintaining and improving the overall containerboard and kraft paper network demand supply model, monitoring changes to the plan against financial objectives, service, and target inventory levels. This position will be responsible for all other associated supply chain metrics, reporting, and analyses that drive the containerboard network supply chain tactical and strategic decisions. The Sr. Analyst, Supply Chain will ensure data accuracy in critical systems and key metric reporting and influence others to drive excellence in service at the lowest network cost to serve. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, consistent, quick learner, critical thinker, and able to complete advanced high-quality analysis with tight deadlines. The individual should be experienced in using data to influence and motivate others. The Sr. Analyst, Supply Chain is a cross functional leader; connected to customer service, sales, financial groups, as well as functional areas of the supply chain, including production planning, inventory planning, logistics and warehousing, developing a complementary suite of processes and reporting to make the monthly plan happen.
How you will impact WestRock:
Support the linkage between the long-term strategic plan and the rolling 0-12 month plan.Ownership of Supply Demand Plan: Develop and manage the kraft paper supply demand plan using forecasts changes by customer and grade, machine capabilities, and balancing multi-commodity machines plans against box inventory. Coordinate cross-functionally to understand near-term changes to supply and demand plans and work with the S&OP team to realign on inventory and sales plans.Refresh product, demand, and supply plans in the short-term so that strategic objectives are achieved.Communicate and align on adjustments to the plan in the short-term through the S&OP weekly processesResponsible for maintaining the containerboard demand supply model.Analyze short and near-term scenarios to adjust to planned/unplanned fluctuations in the business.Facilitate discussion to drive supply chain excellence through data analysis. Lead and participate in cross-functional continuous improvement projects for process improvement, increased OTIF, and cost reduction.Responsible for developing and producing reporting for multiple teams across the business.Complete on-demand data mining and complex ad hoc analysis concerning inventory management, order management, operations, metrics, and budgets while managing standard role responsibilities.Ensure the aligned demand plan is accurately reflected in the scheduling system, enabling customer service to quote delivery dates accurately and drive on-time in-full (OTIF) improvements.Document Standard Operating Procedures and update as needed.Understand business/division objectives and execute work with alignment.
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business field.5 - 8 years in Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Analytics preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPointProject management experience is a plus.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt is a plus.Must possess superior communication skills.Thorough understanding of logistics capabilities (transportation and warehousing) and cost drivers.Demonstrated ability in performing in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment.Travel 5-10% a possibility.
