What You'll Do

As a Senior Analyst (SA) – BCG Vantage in a Client-Focused role within BCG's Corporate Finance & Strategy (CFS) - ValueScience® Center (VSC), you will work in a growing global team across Singapore, New Delhi, London, Munich, and North America providing Corporate Finance & Financial Modelling expertise and insights whilst deployed regularly on case and proposal work (>55% time capacity). You will work closely with consulting teams on cases and proposals by contributing relevant analysis and insights to help create strong impact for clients. While working on client cases, workshops and proposals, regular travel to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments is expected to understand client requirements and design / develop solutions.

 

Additionally, you will support the CFS practice area's Shareholder Value Advisory (SVA) topic in developing existing and new Financial Models, Intellectual Property and Knowledge Assets, applying the Total Shareholder Return (TSR) concept. You will work on commercialization efforts for the topic, in conjunction with business leaders, supporting marketing efforts, conferences and publications. You will learn and develop analyses using data analytics tools such as Tableau and Alteryx.

 

The CFS practice area drives client success by helping CEOs and leaders win the “next game”—and how to maximize value creation while doing it. We transform strategic insights into ambitious agendas for successful transformations. The practice organized across 5 distinctive capabilities with clear areas of excellence – Strategy, Corporate Finance, Transactions & Integrations, Growth & Innovation & Analytics (GIA) and ValueScience® Center.

 

The CFS practice is home to the ValueScience® Center that focuses on all Corporate Development and Total Shareholder Return subject matters, such as: specialized valuation (Smart Multiple®), TSR decomposition and benchmarking, forward TSR analytics, activist screening, financial policy, investor analytics, portfolio x-ray and dynamic integrated financial modelling.



What You'll Bring

• 2+ years of consulting experience in Financial Modelling & Valuation, Corporate Development, and Corporate Finance industry required, preferably with Private Equity and Venture Capital Firms, Investment Banks, Fund Managers, and Big 4 Advisory Firms; candidates with consulting experience strongly preferred
• In lieu of consulting experience, 3+ years minimum industry experience required; 4-6+ years of industry experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor / Master’s degree in either Business Management or Accountancy required, with demonstrated high academic achievement
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or/and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) program/qualification preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, can build a 3-Statement Financial Model from scratch integrating the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, and run multiple business scenarios
• Experienced in S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv Workspace, and Bloomberg
• Strong work ethic and service-mentality
• Ability to multi-task & operate effectively in a global matrix organization
• Effective written communication using Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills in client meetings
• Work in a fast-paced environment and handle ambiguity
• Manage multiple parallel tasks and act independently with limited guidance
• Strong interpersonal, credibility
• Collaborative, team player
• Ability to maintain discretion when needed
• Fluency in English; Japanese is good-to-have but not a must



Who You'll Work With

As a Senior Analyst (SA) in a Client-Focused role, you will work face to face with external clients and with BCG Managing Director & Partners, Partners, Principals, Project Leaders, Consultants and Associates. In the period between cases, you will collaborate with global topic leads and colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to the service of our internal and external clients. • Passionate and knowledgeable about Capital Markets, Value Creation, Transformation, Restructuring & Turnaround, Portfolio Strategy, Acquisitions & Divestments, Portfolio Strategy, Conglomerate Discount, and Investor Strategy
• Understands how Mergers & Acquisitions work and how to evaluate investments
• Strong in Excel and Financial Modelling is a must
• Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity, and work independently is a must
• Experienced with financial databases such as S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv Workspace and Bloomberg
• Strong grasp of Accounting / Valuation Ratios, with expertise in analysing Financial Statements, interpreting Annual / Analyst Reports and Investor Presentations
• Applies topic expertise to build and deploy products, tools and data solutions, taking different client contexts into account
• Collaborates effectively in a group settings (often virtual), proficient in agile ways of working
• Communicates credibly and proactively with senior stakeholders and clients
• Capable of producing client-ready materials that are clear, concise, and impactful
