Now’s your chance. **The Opportunity** Abt Global seeks a Senior Analyst / PhD Economist to support our portfolio of social policy work within Abt’s Research, Monitoring, & Evaluation Capability team. As a member of the Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Capability team, you will apply general and specialized knowledge of principles and concepts in the field of economics to conduct research, monitoring, and evaluation services at the highest levels of quality and rigor to generate evidence-based insights. You will join a diverse and collegial environment where we are dedicated to finding solutions to the most pressing research challenges in education, workforce, food and nutrition, children youth and families, and housing and asset building. Federal government agencies, such as the U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, and Labor call on us to help evaluate their key programs. Our work includes such activities as: + Impact evaluation (randomized controlled trial experiments, quasi-experiments), + meta-analysis, + systematic evidence reviews,  + evaluation technical assistance,  + monitoring and surveillance, + implementation and process studies, and  + community engagement and participatory research. **Core Responsibilities** + Apply expertise in standard economic theory, econometric methods, and quantitative and/or qualitative analysis techniques across a broad range of activities mentioned above. + Contribute subject-matter expertise in one or more of the areas mentioned above.  + Collaborate to execute or manage moderately to highly complex research and evaluation tasks. Examples may include: developing research designs and analysis plans; developing data collection instruments; collecting, reviewing, and analyzing quantitative and/or qualitative data; conducting and interpreting the analysis of primary or secondary data, interpreting and reporting research findings.   + May provide training and technical supervision to less experienced staff. + Work on complex assignments under indirect supervision where there is latitude for independent action and decision-making.  + Collaborate with or assist in managing project teams by communicating respectfully, meeting deadlines, and exercising initiative to resolve complex challenges.  + Contribute to developing and disseminating project deliverables and other products to share project findings through client briefings, presentations, blog posts, podcasts, videos and/or social media.  + Support business development activities including proposal writing and development. + Maintain excellent relationships with clients and external partners.   **What We Value** ** ** + PhD in Economics, or related field, by Summer 2024. + Demonstrated technical expertise related to quantitative and/or qualitative research methods for program evaluation in the social sciences.   + Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative analysis, data collection, and reporting. + Aptitude and interest in mentoring less-experienced staff and managing multidisciplinary teams.  + Demonstrated commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in research approaches and interactions with colleagues. + Demonstrated experience translating research and making it accessible to practice, policy, and/or government audiences.   + A well-rounded interpersonal skill set with the capacity to build relationships with clients, funders, and workforce development leaders, and to work effectively in a team environment.  + Knowledge of relevant statistical software packages (e.g., Stata, SAS, R)  + Experience with business development and proposal or grant writing considered a plus. + Strong interest in public policy research. + Effective communication in English, orally and in writing. + Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. **_PLEASE APPLY TO THIS JOB THROUGH THE APPLICATION LINK ON THE AEA JOE WEBSITE BY NOVEMBER 20, 2024._** **What We Offer** Abt Global is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse workforce. This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $79,000 to $130,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.
