As a senior Android developer, you will work with Gallup’s mobile development team to create and support mobile apps that affect the lives of millions of users worldwide. Whether you are creating new visualizations for end-user reporting, developing new features for our existing app, or maintaining and supporting the app’s continual updates and upgrades to APIs and architecture, your work will help people capitalize on what they do best and empower managers to build engaging workplaces worldwide.
Your projects will include work on Gallup Access, our flagship offering, and contributing to exciting features such as notifications, dark mode, accessibility and internationalization.
You will be responsible for:
maintaining and supporting existing apps identifying and fixing usability issues fixing bugs and bottlenecks identified by the QA team adding and developing new features to current apps ensuring the best possible performance, responsiveness, and quality of code that is developed and maintained for apps helping the team maintain code quality, organization and automatization of new and existing code base partnering with stakeholders, product managers and UX designers to gather requirements, design and scope working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of apps with back-end systems and APIs creating and maintaining documentation and mentoring a team of engineers to incorporate emerging technologies and best practicesIf you are a constant learner who is passionate about innovation with mobile apps, gets excited about new developments in the mobile Android ecosystem, and has a fascination for developing software that results in millions of downloads around the world, join us, and put your greatest strengths to work.
What you need:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required Six+ years of experience with programming in Kotlin or Java required; experience with both is a plus Proficiency with Android SDK, different versions of Android and supporting different screen sizes required Expertise in Android UI design principles, patterns and best practices and experience with MVVM pattern required Deep understanding of software engineering best practices, including design patterns, architectural principles, security and software testing methodologies required Strong experience using RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services required Experience with maintaining, building and publishing apps to PlayStore required Ability to work at Gallup’s Berlin office at least two days per week required Experience with offline storage and asynchronous coding preferred Experience with any dependency injection framework preferred Experience with iOS or cross-platform (React Native/Flutter/KMP) is a plusWhat we offer:
