The Senior Application Analyst stays abreast of industry information technology solutions and assists with the oversight and strategic planning of applications across the organization. Applying comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s technology deployment, the Senior Application Analyst coordinates application administration and performance requirements, collaborating with various stakeholders within and outside of the Information Technology (IT) department. The Senior Application Analyst uses operational and technical expertise to support the organization’s technology deployment and strives to seek continuous improvement to the performance and reliability of deployed technologies by implementing new processes, procedures, protocols, and workflow. Often taking the lead as the Project Manager, the Senior Application Analyst also assists with devising plans, identifying stakeholders, leading project meetings, and tracking project deliverables to drive successful implementations. The Senior Application Analyst also participates in operational activities, working with end-users, managers, vendors, and other IT department team members to administer systems, resolve issues, and devise new solutions as industry and business needs continue to change. The Senior Application Analyst assists with ensuring proper execution of department application policies and procedures, assessing the education needs for individuals in and outside of the department, and creates and presents executive reports with recommendations and application roadmaps.

Responsibilities Capable of managing large and small projects, including new system selection, system implementation, benefit realization, and re-engineering processes.Can help train, mentor, and guide team members daily.Can assist with prioritzing and delegating work to mid/junior level Analyst.Guides the development of business continuity plans related to business operation workflows and procedures; assists with creating downtime procedures and documentation working with other subject matter experts.Develops and maintains expertise and competence in determining or analyzing needs for automated systems, participates in the development and clarification of user requirements, and aids in system selection processes.Consults and advises users, management, physicians, vendors, and business partners concerning the purpose, features, functions, and proper use of new and existing systems.Helps to identify and recommend new and improved uses of computer applications to enhance current processes, achieve cost advantage, improve customer service, and ensure security safeguards are in place.Communicates effectively with project sponsors, senior management, functional managers, and/or consultants regarding the status of assigned projectsHelps to ensure that all systems and applications are compatible and consistent with the organization’s information systems infrastructure and comply with established architectural and technical safeguards.Lead staff education and training in application, information systems, systems analysis, and project management through on-the-job instruction and formal training programs.Develops and maintains an awareness of the healthcare information systems industry, contemporary and emerging technologies, and relevant laws and regulations.Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects with minimal supervision.Maintain and enhance cooperative interdepartmental and vendor relationships and communications.Attends and participates in meetings, committees, and training sessions as assigned.Participates in hospital committees and workgroups as assigned.Ability to work a flexible schedule and second-tier or third-tier on-call.Maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and security compliance guidelines.Perform additional duties as assigned.Participate in the IT team's nightly support on-call rotation. Qualifications At least five years experience as systems/business analyst or equivalent business experience in a healthcare clinical system.Demonstrates leadership aptitude and ability.Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates and superiorsAbility to organize multiple job tasks and work independentlyStrong communication, organization, and project management skills are necessary for this positionExhibits strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external personnelSkills in planning and preparing written communicationDemonstrates flexibility in rapidly changing environmentsAble to work under stressful situationsStrong problem solving and analytical skills with well-organized and structured work habitsGeneral knowledge of business systems, PCs, collaborative computing tools, information management, general information architectures, systems integration, information security, laws, and regulations.Ability to work with tight deadlines, time pressures and ambiguity.Ability to multi-task and grasp complex environments.Good leadership, supervision, and teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written documentation skills.Must have the ability to speak, interpret and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
