Senior Application Developer

We are seeking a skilled MS SQL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, developing, and maintaining SQL databases and applications. This role requires a proactive individual who can work closely with other developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure the performance, availability, and security of our databases.

 

Responsibilities:

SQL Development:
• Query Writing: Write complex SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support application functionality.
• Optimization: Optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Stored Procedures: Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• ETL Processes: Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.
• Data Manipulation: Perform data manipulation tasks such as inserts, updates, and deletes.
• Error Handling: Implement robust error handling and logging mechanisms in SQL scripts.
• Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure SQL code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Version Control: Use version control systems to manage changes to SQL scripts and database objects.
• Testing: Conduct unit testing and integration testing of SQL code to ensure functionality and performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with application developers to integrate database functionality and optimize performance.

Database Design & Data Integration:
• Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures.
• Ensure database designs meet business requirements and performance standards.
• Design and implement ETL processes to integrate data from various sources.
• Ensure data consistency and integrity across different systems.

Performance Tuning:
• Monitor and optimize database performance.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in SQL queries and database structures.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL and reporting tools.
• Provide data analysis and insights to support business decision making.

Collaboration:
• Work closely with application developers to integrate database functionality.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

Maintenance and Support:
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and integrity checks.
• Provide support for database related issues and troubleshoot problems as they arise.

Security and Compliance:
• Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.

Documentation:
• Maintain detailed documentation of database designs, processes, and configurations.
• Document any changes made to the database environment for future reference.

Qualification & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a MS SQL Developer.
• Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server latest versions.
• Strong experience in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration.

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in MS SQL and database development.
• Strong knowledge of database design principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Certifications (Preferred):
• Microsoft Certified
• AWS Certified
