Job Summary
Responsible for engineering design and review of concrete formwork and shoring layouts, including custom elements tailored to complex project requirements. Support both pre-construction and active project phases, ensuring technical excellence and field feasibility.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Develops detailed formwork and shoring drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Performs structural calculations to validate load capacities and ensure safety.
Prepares bills of material and review peer designs for accuracy and optimization.
Applies civil engineering principles to plan and lay out formwork and shoring systems based on inventory, schedule, cost, and customer requirements.
Collaborates with construction teams to ensure effective implementation of designs.
Provides technical input to sales and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Attends customer meetings during and after the sales process to support technical discussions and design alignment.

Nature and Scope

Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.
Work Environment
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Most of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking and/or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural Engineering. EIT certification.Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred. Three (3) years under a registered Professional Engineer.5+ years of experience in concrete design.
