Primary Focus
The Office of Technology Services (OTS) was established as a means of recognizing cost savings through the consolidation of State IT assets and resources. The creation of OTS consolidated a wide variety of existing hardware platforms, operating systems, database management systems, networks, third party software, and custom applications. OTS leads the State’s technology procurement process in order to standardize technology over the entire organization, seek efficiencies of operations, maintenance, and scalability of new products introduced to the OTS suite of services which can eventually be offered to all in-scope agencies. Responsibilities Individually respond to computer system emergencies and resolve problems independently or in consultation with other Information Technology applications staff or end user personnelResearch and resolve program, machine, data or system software problems of a highly technical nature, frequently interacting with other employees, supervisors, or usersProvide expert advice, assistance or guidance of a highly technical nature concerning specialized application tools, hardware, software, or databasesProvide specialized training to Information Technology applications staff on databases, tools, techniques, and procedures relevant to applications maintenance and developmentResearch new developments in hardware and software and keeps abreast of the latest developments and studies involving computer-related procedures and methodsDesign, code, compile, test, debug, modify, and document new or existing highly complex applications programs within accepted standards, procedures and guidelinesImplement complex in-house and vendor-supplied applications softwareEvaluate, analyze and prepare information and recommendations on technical solutions or options related to operating and managing an information systemIndependently define data elements; design structures for databases; write and compile definitions and descriptions of data elements into dictionary form for use by professionals and users. Write user guides and other documentation; meet with users to determine needs and parameters to evaluate results; train users in programs or systemsEvaluate and analyze requests for enhancements or development projects of a highly complex natureSolely responsible for the preparation and supervision of formal system test procedures of highly complex application systemsPrepare and monitor work plans and schedules to ensure timeliness, data integrity, and availability on a project basisOther duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Should have at least six (6) years’ experience performing duties in large-scale Enterprise Architecture environmentsMust have prior experience with large-scale state Enterprise Architecture systems serving multiple governmental agenciesMust have experience in an Enterprise Architecture environment comprised of various components and must be familiar with how the various components of an Enterprise Architecture integrateMust have a general understanding and experience with at least one of the following EA components or similar technologies:Decision Center, Decision ServerwebMethods API Gateway Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment
