What you will do

The Senior Field Applications Engineer provides technical support and applications analysis for the FTIR product line within Thermo Fisher's Environmental and Process Monitoring business unit. A successful candidate will evaluate and qualify gas analysis applications to broaden the scope of FTIR capabilities and knowledge base and support customer-facing marketing activities. As a crucial member of the product marketing team, Applications Engineers enable our customers to reduce emissions, make process decisions faster, improve product quality and protect the health of their employees!

Identify likely areas of emerging applications and propose applications solutions to product managementWork with R&D and the Product Manager on new product requirements and early system/performance testingTackle customer partner concerns through in-depth troubleshootingTeam with individual sales professionals to identify and cultivate new or target accounts, departments, key influencers according to sales plans.Generate technical sales collateral including customer presentations, application notes, and white papers on selected FTIR topicsPrepare and present seminars to wide array of trade shows and technical conferencesPrioritize projects and mentor junior colleaguesPrepare and deliver customer and sales training presentations on various applications and product topicsLead product demonstrations showcasing Thermo Fisher Scientific’s innovative FTIR technology and applications.How you will get here

Education/Experience

Masters Degree in Chemistry (or similar) or 10 years experience.

Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry (or similar), preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesProficiency in FTIR spectroscopy is requiredExperience with gas analysis is requiredExperience with chemometrics is preferredAble to handle multi-tasking, deliveries, and timelinesExcellent organization skill, detail orientedExcellent communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $107,000.00–$128,000.00.
