JOB DESCRIPTION

The FOX Business & Data Platform Team is looking for a seasoned Senior Architect with a passion for defining and building robust and scalable Data Architecture. This is a great opportunity to join a data-first media company and be part of our Enterprise Data Platform team that prides itself in making Fox a data-driven organization. This role will be responsible for creating flexible and extendable data models, reference architectures & best practices for the enterprise data team to enable data democratization and to support BI, Analytics and Insights. The successful candidate will have a background in influencing the data strategy and creating reference architectures and data models as part of an Enterprise Data Team with a functional understanding of the Digital Media and Entertainment landscape.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with Enterprise Architect in formulating the data strategy that is in line with business objectives and processes, including standards of data quality, data flows and data model designsCollaborate with product owners to determine business-specific data needs and translate these functional requirements into technical designsExplore, analyze and understand the data from internal and external sources, outline designs to integrate, centralize and unify dataIdentify attributes, measures and work with Business stakeholders and Product Owners to understand the required KPIs and business rulesCreate conceptual, logical and physical data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses, data lakes, data marts and analytics systems.Demonstrate design prototypes and integrate user feedback to evolve final solutionsCreate reference architectures, standards & best practices to ensure engineering teams build distributed, low latency, reliable data pipelines ensuring the availability and timely delivery of dataDrive adoption of best practices and agreed upon design patterns across the Engineering & BI teams. Conduct periodic reviews to ensure the team adheres to these standards and best practicesKey contributor in AI-readiness by establishing data collection and management practices that will support the FOX initiatives for future AI applications and innovations.Implement AI-powered insights within Salesforce Data Cloud, enabling the organization to utilize artificial intelligence using Salesforce native models for predictive analytics, trend spotting, and decision supportSpearheaded AI-readiness initiatives by implementing robust data collection and management practices, ensuring alignment with FOX's future AI application and innovation strategies.Integrated AI-powered insights into Salesforce Data Cloud, empowering the organization to leverage Salesforce's native AI models for advanced analytics, trend identification, and data-driven decision-making.Conduct a continuous audit of data management system performance, refine and optimize whenever requiredIncorporate industry trends and best practices in data model design and development frameworksBuild and maintain appropriate Enterprise Architecture artifacts including; Entity Relationship Models, Physical Data Models, Data dictionary, taxonomy to aid data traceabilityProvide technical oversight to solution delivery in creating business driven solutions adhering to the enterprise architecture and data governance standardsPartner with Governance team and be an advocate of data security principles and ensure appropriate security practices are embedded in all implementationsPartner with other tech teams to achieve objectives in a seamless, collaborative fashionFoster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the group

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field In-depth knowledge of Data management concepts, data modeling techniques and methodologies in an all-cloud ecosystem dealing with Big DataExpertise in creating end to end data flow architectures and scalable/flexible data modelsStrong understanding of modern data platforms and designs - data warehouse, data lake, lake house, data mesh, real-time streaming etc.Strong ability to visualize the relationships between different data entities and define data architecture strategies and models to bring data together for defining business KPIsProficient in using Salesforce Data Cloud interface, including Data Streams, Data Lake Objects, Data Model, Data Explorer, Profile Explorer, Identity Resolutions, and Calculated Insights.  Experienced in transforming raw, complex data into actionable insights by analyzing large, denormalized reference objects and utilizing structures, lists, arrays, and maps.Experience in Data Integration leveraging Snowflake, Informatica IICS, SQL, Python and GitHub to solve complex use casesProficiency in Databricks tools and technologies, including Delta Lake and Databricks SQL.Extensive ETL development experience, particularly with large-scale data processing and transformation pipelines.Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex querying, performance tuning, and optimization (experience with MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server).Experience working with modern data engineering tech stack and platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Services, DBT)Experience with distributed data architectures and big data processing technologies (Spark, EMR, Hadoop, Hive)Experience working with real-time data streams processing and ingestion frameworks ( Apache Kafka, Kinesis, Flink or Spark Structured Streaming)Experience with CI/CD using Github Actions or JenkinsExperience working with structured, semi-structured and unstructured dataExperience with integration patterns, REST, SOAP, ETL, etc.Confident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as neededExcellent multitasking skills and task management strategiesStrong strategic thinking, analytics skills and business acumenSees the big picture and is fully aware of technology and business directionsOptimizes the use of all available resourcesEffectively manage competing priorities and promote agile deliveryCommunicate clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical leadership

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $121,500.00-180,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $101,200.00-150,000.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
