Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Architect to lead projects of various sizes from conceptual design through construction administration. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, critical thought, and design excellence both internally and externally. You will be responsible for developing designs from both functional and aesthetic perspectives while meeting client requirements, budgets, and programs.
ResponsibilitiesLead projects from conceptual design, scope development, and production of construction documents through construction administration.Inspire creativity, critical thought, and design excellence internally and externally.Develop designs in concert with client requirements, budget, and program.Participate in the development of the program and other pre-design efforts.Create design sketches, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express design intent.Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.Present and communicate with stakeholders.Implement sustainable design principles.Ensure designs adhere to code and zoning requirements, client objectives, and cost parameters.Evaluate and select building systems and materials.Coordinate building systems and subconsultants.Maintain design intent through documentation and construction.Essential SkillsLicensed ArchitectAbility to oversee architecture team reporting to directorPublic NYC agency experienceProject managementConstruction document preparationProficiency in AutoCADProficiency in drafting and design developmentExperience with NYCHA, MTA, Port Authority projectsAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in ArchitectureMinimum of 10 years of experienceNew York State Licensed Architect preferredLEED Green Associate or LEED AP is a plusPrevious MTA/NYCHA/SCA experience requiredExtensive experience in the development of construction documentsStrong communication and relationship skillsAbility to prioritize assignments and maintain schedulesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient use of Revit preferredWork Environment
This position requires working 5 days in the office located in Newark, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
Full benefits offered including health insurance, PTO, 401k, holidays, etc.. Full benefit package would be provided prior to interviews once determined if candidate is a fit for the role or not.
