Albertsons-Safeway's Northern California Division has an opening for a Senior Asset Protection Manager.
The Senior Asset Protection Manager will provide positive, proactive leadership and instruction in the area of Security/Asset Protection. This individual will promote workable, realistic Asset Protection programs that foster a safe shopping and working environment for our customers and associates as well as protecting company assets. This will be accomplished while preventing crime and loss to the company through policies and procedures, use of technology, and training programs within the scope of Albertson’s core values, while also working closely with Operations. This position will support all stores in the Northern California Division. This individual will be responsible for providing support and supervision to the Asset Protection Team, Special Projects, and Data Analyst.
Responsibilities
Support Asset Protection Director to execute Division and Company initiatives. Provide direction and support to Asset Protection Managers and Asset Protection Specialists. Provide Asset Protection Supervision to Northern California Division stores. Protect customers, associates, and company property. Promote adherence to company policies and procedures and familiarize associates with company rules and regulations. Maintain formal and informal channels of communication throughout the organization. Work closely with Division Operations and act as liaison for the following: Corporate Council, Labor Relations/Human Resources, Government Agencies, Law Enforcement Agencies, Community groups, Judicial Agencies, etc. Manage and submit required reports to corporate and division senior management. Monitor in-store security programs and make recommendations to ensure the efficacy of these programs. Investigate store and facility issues, including but not limited to workplace violence, sexual harassment, violations of time clock policy, etc. Report investigation findings to Labor Relations, Human Resources and Legal departments for disposition. Present facts at unemployment and union hearings. Provide expert testimony in designated civil or criminal litigation. Utilize exception reporting systems to reduce fraud and shrink and ensure compliance with goals and objectives. Analyze point of sale transaction activity and back door receiving to identify fraudulent activity. Review electronic journal, data maintenance, report and accounting functions, and security reports. Identify operational issues relating to shrink. Maintain data and summarize findings. Develop division short and long-range plans for the Asset Protection department.Salary range is $105,900 to $137,500 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
Qualifications
Education Level: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience Level: 5 + years’ experience as an Asset Protection Manager or equivalent Asset Protection retail experience preferred.
Travel Requirements: Division-wide travel, up to 40%. Must have own transportation and be available for overnight travel.
Physical Environment
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office or retail store environment. Store visits involve regular standing, walking, climbing stairs, and movement in and around machinery and hazardous equipment, as well as backstage receiving and production areas. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
