This position will manage the administration of highway construction contracts and supervise contract construction work, establishment of engineering controls for the contractor and inspection of the construction work. This position will be responsible for contract administration of all types of construction projects including Central and Division led contracts. This position requires proficiency in plan reading, highway engineering calculations and familiarity in the operations of survey instruments. Other duties include the preparation of monthly estimates, final estimates and other record keeping required during the life of a contract construction project. Additional Expectations Possess working knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering and construction methods, materials and equipment. Ability to communicate, establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, contractor's personnel and the general public. Ability to make field engineering decisions. Must be able to withstand extreme weather and terrain conditions while performing duties. Night and weekend work may be required. Safety shoes are required.
