Senior Associate, Analytics & Strategy Analyst

Role Summary:

The Senior Associate, Analytics & Strategy Analyst will be a senior member of the Analytics team that will own the development of high-profile analyses. This individual has a strong ability to formulate strategic solutions leveraging data programming languages and visualization tools. You will take complex challenges and develop actionable insights that will produce tangible benefits.
You will have the exposure and opportunities partner closely with various business teams to formulate and execute business strategies that align with New York Life’s differentiators and priorities. The CVP, Analytics & Strategy Analyst will serve as a team ambassador and advisor at the enterprise level. This role will work with peer analytics teams and business executives to deliver on cross department initiatives. You will be integrated into a well-established team of highly collaborative and entrepreneurial analysts.

What You'll Do
 

Partner with senior business leaders to define and execute high-impact strategies—translating data into stories, insights, and recommendations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their goals, structure complex analyses, and deliver clear, actionable insights. Lead the implementation of strategic insights—working across business units to ensure real-world impact. Build and maintain advanced data pipelines using cutting-edge analytics tools. Write complex SQL queries and use Python/R to surface key patterns. Create intuitive, compelling visualizations that support decision-making at the highest levels. Present insights and business cases to senior executives in a crisp, professional manner. Serve as a subject matter expert on enterprise datasets and mentor team members in advanced analytics tools and best practices. Act as a strategic liaison across enterprise analytics teams to align efforts and share knowledge

What you’ll Bring:
 

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics) or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of experience in data analytics, strategy consulting, or related roles Advanced SQL and Python skills; DBT experience is a plus Hands-on experience with AWS, Databricks, and modern cloud analytics environments Strong expertise in data visualization (Tableau preferred) Proven ability to analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to drive strategic recommendations Experience applying GenAI tools/techniques in analytical workflows Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills—comfortable presenting to senior leadership High level of professionalism, positive energy, and collaborative spirit Master’s degree in a quantitative or business-related field + years relevant experience Experience working in cross-functional teams across a matrixed organization Strong business acumen with a bias toward action and measurable outcomes

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  $95,000-$162,500 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
