Senior Associate, Brokerage Operations

Role/ Department:

We are looking for a Middle Office Operations professional to join our Institutional Brokerage business, and provide Operational Trade Support to our Sales and Trading teams as well as servicing our panel of Institutional Clients.

The role focuses around the post-Trade lifecycle, from Trade Allocation to Pre-matching & Settlements across Global Markets, working with a range of diverse asset types, and the reconciliations inherent to the activity.

You will be joining a dynamic, client-facing, multi-faceted, and diverse team, set within our Global Banking and Markets business, with a fast paced and vibrant environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in similar functions, be an enthusiastic team player with a keen eye for detail, impeccable work ethic, and with a client servicing driven mindset.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Post-trade allocation of Equities, Fixed Income and ETD transactions across different confirmation formats – manually, CTM and FIX – as well as resolving trade confirmation-related queries;Pre-Matching and Settlement – Closely monitors both Street-side and Client-side settlement instructions, facilitating pre-matching and promoting timely settlement on VD. Liaises with both Execution Brokers and Clients, ensuring our settlement rate benchmark is maintained, and strives to elevate it whilst ensuring market and settlement risk is promptly avoided;Provide operational support to our Sales & Trading desks, answering operational queries and providing guidance on the post-trade impact of trading actions;Resolving Client queries by liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including the Client and their Custodians & Prime Brokers;Write and maintains high quality procedure documentation;Work within the guidelines and policies;Analyze possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents;Solve problems in straightforward situations;Assist in training new starters within the team;Challenge existing processes and offers ideas.

Skills/ Qualifications:

Financial Services industry experience, preferably in a financial operations role, and has specific brokerage operations knowledge and expertise;Expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline;Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work; Ability to convey complex information to others in straightforward situations;Has an understanding of regional regulatory requirements;Applies best practices and how own area integrates with others;Provides informal guidance to new team members;Excellent attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills;Strong dedication to top-level Client Service; Good organizational skills and a keen sense of prioritization due to deadline-driven environment; Great team player,Core Microsoft 365 user – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Planner, Dynamics
