Senior Associate, Financial Planning & Analysis - Alternatives

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Neuberger Berman plays a critical role in providing strategic financial partnership and decision support to key stakeholders, including the firm’s senior leadership, Operating Committee members, investment team leadership and client coverage leadership.  The team also supports the employee equity owners and external stakeholders, such as ratings agencies and senior note investors.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Corporate (Management Company) FP&A team with a focus on providing FP&A support for our Alternatives businesses (Private Equity, Private Credit, and Real Estate).  Responsibilities include, but not limited to, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and analysis to support senior business leadership. Additionally, the role will involve conducting profitability analyses for key business areas and new products; industry benchmarking of our alternatives business against similarly aligned peers; and analytics to support investment professional compensation structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead modeling efforts to forecast multi-year capital fundraising and management fee revenues

Model effective fee rates for new funds and investor commitments for management fee run rate revenue reporting

Support modeling initiatives around firmwide carried interest and performance fee projections

Support the alternatives business operating model and efficiency projects through scenario modeling, expense reviews, and industry benchmarking.

Provide support for formulaic compensation calculations for investment teams

Develop relationships with investment team lead and fund controllers to provide regular touchpoints on financial performance

Participate in firm-wide budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analytics.

Provide ad hoc support for FP&A projects

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related business field

4-6 years of planning/financial modeling experience; experience with alternatives products / strategies preferred

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including building financial models) and PowerPoint (including building stakeholder-ready presentation books) required

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal); ability to communicate clearly to senior management and other key stakeholders

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; a highly motivated self-starter

Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills

Strong ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Knowledge of general ledger and management reporting systems such as SAP or OneStream a plus

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $95,000-$130,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
