Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Architectural/Building Design Project Manager based in Houston, Dallas or Austin, TX to lead and execute interdisciplinary building design projects with a focus on Science & Technology, industrial and logistics projects in a collaborative and design-focused environment. The role will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration. Responsible for planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

Acting as a primary point of contact with the clientWorking with interdisciplinary technical leads to coordinate successful execution of projects in design and constructionReviewing contracts, preparing fee proposals and project execution strategiesManaging and leading technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using established processes and toolsManaging sub-consultant scope, fees, deliverables, and performanceLeading the team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within the scope and budgetManaging changes to the project scope, schedule and costsReporting and escalating project issues to management as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering (mechanical/HVAC or structural) plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Professional licensure (RA, PE)

Preferred Qualifications:

 10 + years of related experience in the industryMaster’s degree preferredLeadership experience, including managing client expectations, multi-disciplinary teams, and meeting scope/schedule/budgetDetail-oriented, methodical, meticulous, process-oriented, yet open to changes and motivated by innovationAdvanced knowledge of planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration, and code requirementsExperience managing concurrent projects in various stages of development and managing multiple project types with an emphasis on design, sustainability, and innovationInnovative problem solver with excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to manage people and projects through strong demonstrated organizational skillsStrong skills in the full suite of MS Office applicationsParticipate in selected marketing and business development opportunities in support of the sales teamDevelop and maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential clientsBe a great collaborator and communicatorAmbitious self-starter with a get-it-done attitude who strives for excellence
