This Opportunity:

Palladium has three portfolios that strengthen and harness digital and data ecosystems to accelerate development investments and outcomes: 1- Information Systems (IS) 2- Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Analytics (MELA) and 3- Digital Solutions and Transformation (DST).

We are proactively building a talent pool for future Senior Associate, Project Delivery positions within our organization. As a Senior Associate, Project Delivery, you will be responsible for supporting projects within our IS, MELA and DST portfolios. The Senior Associate, Project Delivery serves as part of a team that is responsible for the management and delivery of a specific activity, ranging from $10 million to upwards of $50 million each. The Senior Associate, Project Delivery position supports the management of effective and efficient practices to deliver work in accordance with contractual obligations, company policies, local country settings, and client rules and regulations. The Senior Associate, Project Delivery is a valued member of the team completing a variety of tasks that are critical to high-quality project management. This role works closely with a Manager, Project Delivery and a Technical Director/Activity Lead.

Location and Compensation:

The position is based in Palladium’s Washington D.C. office.

Per company guidance, we are aiming to keep hiring closer to our main U.S. offices. If we are unable to find successful candidates who are willing to work from the D.C. office, then as a last resort we may discuss the possibility of considering exceptional candidates to work permanently remotely (from other U.S. states where Palladium is registered).

Reporting Lines:

The role reports directly to the Manager, Project Delivery
Internally the role will be required to liaise closely with other staff of the project, including the project delivery team, corporate business services team, Process Excellence Hub, innovative finance/economic growth subject matter experts, and other units within the Americas Regional Business Partnership
Externally the role will liaise with clients, in-country Palladium staff and stakeholders, subcontractors, grantees, and suppliers

Primary Roles and Responsibilities: 

Functions in an agile manner by working with multiple team members to deliver on multiple requests and project/corporate needs
Contributes to the pursuit of new business opportunities
Support cross sectoral collaboration as applicable
Researches trends and identifies opportunities for improvement within the project and/or portfolio
Manages subcontracts and third-party vendor contracts to address contractual and payment matters as needed
Supports the management of operational activities associated with the various aspects of the life cycle of a project
Processes contract action requests (i.e., travel, personnel additions/changes, partner, grant, budget realignment, etc.)
Contributes to technical activities – workplans, activity deliverables, communication products
In collaboration with Manager and Project Director, ensures clear and timely communication between all stakeholders
Serves as the project’s liaison between all internal stakeholders including but not limited to corporate services, Senior Managers, the Compliance and Project Excellence Hub
Identifies, builds, and maintains sector-specific relationships with partners and consultants that can provide technical expertise to Palladium-managed projects
Reviews and processes invoices from consultants, subcontractors, and vendors for timely and accurate submission in accordance with project requirements and Palladium procedures
Contributes to financial forecasting and system uploads, identifies and corrects errors; identifies inconsistencies with technical planning and recommends solutions; plans for procurements/grants to ensure resource availability at critical times
Contributes to sector-specific research, reports, budgets, workplans, proposals and other outputs intended for distribution to internal and external stakeholders
Conduct background research and desk reviews of country digital development initiatives and strategies as part of the proposal process
Consolidate capability statements and support knowledge management systems of Palladium’s prior experience leveraging digital solutions
Contribute to the development and writing of technical and management strategies on proposals
Performs other duties as required

Essential Criteria:

Ability to learn and apply complex program procedures with exceptional attention to detail
Proven ability to train people on new processes
Demonstrated competence to assess priorities and manage a variety of activities in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality
Experience supporting the design, development, and implementation of digital interventions to improve social or economic outcomes in sectors such as health, agriculture, education, and policy and governance
Experience leading research activities related to strategy or policy development, qualitative data collection, and impact of digital solutions or digital ecosystem strengthening
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a complex and fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients, and consultants
Sound problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Financial acumen and the ability to interpret and analyze financial reports
Ability to travel and work in developing countries for extended periods of time if needed
Strong editing skills and demonstrated competence using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Desirable Criteria:

Understanding of USAID, USG, or other donor funded digital health projects preferred
Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in team settings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive problem-solver that takes an analytical approach to addressing challenges
Experience configuring or implementing open-source Global Goods tools such as DHIS2, CommCare, iHRIS, and others
Experience in visualization or business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI, or open-source platforms like Metabase or Apache Superset
