Senior Associate, Supply - Canada Strategy & Operations
DoorDash
About the Team
DoorDash is looking for top talent to play a pivotal role in growing our business in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand! We are looking for someone who is excited about joining a fast-paced environment and driving our next wave of growth.
About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Associate for our Dasher Logistics team in Canada to focus on managing the supply of Dashers on the road. Dashers form the backbone of the business and we want them to be delivering goodness when we need them and where we need them. We’d want the incoming individual to focus on achieving supply goals (having sufficient Dashers on the road to complete outstanding deliveries everywhere at all times in the most cost-efficient manner) in all markets across Canada while focusing on cost and efficiency. Doing so efficiently helps DoorDash deliver food with the best quality in the fastest time possible. In this role, you will work on initiatives that range from forecasting, mobilizing Dashers by using incentives, quarterly/annual planning and managing live operations during severe weather events and holidays. The work you do will identify massive quality and cost improvements that will directly impact our ability to grow our marketplace businesses. You will use a significant degree of data skills, quantitative analyses and analytical thinking to drive impact. You will work with cross-functional partners across marketing, finance, analytics, product and engineering to deliver results. We operate in a hybrid model, and our office is located in downtown Toronto.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
+ Analyze. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data. You’ll build models, frameworks, processes and much more.
+ Strategize. From first principles, you’ll develop the optimal strategy for achieving efficiency in operations. You’ll sign up for ambitious goals to improve quality of deliveries.
+ Build. You’ll have your fingerprints on all DoorDash’ operations. You’ll do whatever it takes to launch, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new.
+ Lead and collaborate. This role will lean in on strategic, cross functional projects with partners from different geos to ensure success during each quarter.
+ Experiment. Run tests and scale insights. Embrace the challenge of having multiple paths forward and no right answer. Growing a business in a competitive market will not be easy.
We’re excited about you because…
+ You love data. You are excited to dig into data and can solve the toughest problems with reason and logic. You're comfortable pulling and modeling large datasets and have experience working on SQL.
+ You're an operator. You have a talent for managing complex projects, converting high-level goals into action, and converting insights into scalable processes.
+ You have 4+ years of experience in operations, technology, consulting, strategy, business development, banking, analytics, high-growth or early-stage startup experience or related experience.
+ You can get things done. You can prioritize, communicate, execute and synthesize - be it the result of your day-day or of experiments you’ll run to achieve your goals.
+ You are curious. You are a learner, and can structure your thoughts, learnings, findings and wins. You work hard to understand how your work overlaps and impacts other parts of the business and you are motivated by delivering impact.
+ You're unafraid of uncharted territory. Rapid change is exciting to you, and you excel in new environments. You are resilient and can pivot on the fly to support constantly shifting flag poles. You can operate under ambiguity and don’t need perfect information to keep moving forward.
+ Master’s Degree, or an MBA preferred.
