This position is responsible to maintain control over inventory levels and required DOH (Days on Hand) level. The inventory controller is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the cost of production. Additional responsibilities are maintaining internal control, preparing management reports and developing standards for cost estimating for both Laval and Georgetown plants.
NO. 1 INVENTORY CONTROL
50 %
Establish controls, communication and actions to maintain the inventory levels of raw material, Work In Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) to the plan requirements.
TYPICAL TASKS
Prepares daily reports of inventory and maintain the inventory board in the daily management board meetings. Assures constant flow of parts between departments. Establish FIFO flows on the floor with inventory control boxes. Determine the required level of raw material, WIP and FG in each department. Communicate with master planner for any production problem creating excess or lack of inventory in the various departments. Prepares raw material, WIP and FG physical inventories. Prepares the monthly journal entries for Raw Material, WIP and FG inventories. Reviews and adjusts the min/max and lead times for Oracle raw material ordering. Responsible for the proper usage of Raw Material through the plants Completes the internal control (SOX) documentation related to inventory.
NO. 2 COST ACCOUNTING

Ensures accuracy and integrity of production costs. Undertakes other accounting related tasks when needed.
TYPICAL TASKS
Prepares manufacturing plant rates.
Updates costs data in Plantrack (inventory system).
Modifies cost sheet to reflect actual rates.
Enters quoted and operating standards in Plantrack.
Support supervisors with analysis of hours scanned.
Assists the master planner in achieving on time delivery (OTD) requirements.
Develops new tools and reports in for inventory, costing and planning sections.
Reviews and investigates variances in the Plantrack profit per part versus Oracle actual results.
Participates in month-end closing process.
Review and correct WIP and FG inventory details and scans.
