Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Senior Associate position within our Water Security, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WSSH) sector.
Position Descriptions: Senior Associates in Tetra Tech’s International Development Services Division support a portfolio of projects Tetra Tech implements around the world. They work on diverse and dynamic domestic and internationally based teams to apply their technical expertise in one of Tetra Tech’s core markets to support project management, new business development, and project delivery.
The Senior Associate position is at the forefront of our work - managing projects in complex environments, driving new business, and contributing to internal and external thought leadership. The position can be fully remote from a US-based location or hybrid within a commutable distance to either one of our office locations in Winooski, VT or Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to WSSH new business pursuits as a Proposal Manager or Lead Technical Writer; conduct positioning and marketing; lead client interaction; and maintain deep networks in the industry.
* Act as a “proposal champion,” and strategist for priority new business pursuits.
* Manage and oversee large and complex projects, from start-up through close-out.
* Ensure contract compliance in accordance with client and Tetra Tech requirements.
* Provide leadership, innovation, and excellence in technical service areas, including mentoring and supervision of junior staff.
* Travel regularly to WSSH project sites to provide technical assistance, management, and training support to local project staff.
* Contribute to projects and proposals within other Tetra Tech technical sectors, including Environment and Natural Resources and Agriculture and Economic Development.
* Write position papers and other communications pieces to market the sector’s experience, capabilities and learning.
* Represent Tetra Tech to clients and partners in the US and abroad.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
* Minimum master’s degree required in civil/environmental engineering, policy, environmental sciences or a related field.
* Minimum 10 (ten) years of experience working at a professional services firm or equivalent organization focusing on international WSSH project management and/or implementation, and new business.
* Minimum 3 (three) years’ experience in project management support and/or technical assistance programming working in developing and transitioning countries or fragile contexts.
* Demonstrated understanding of how to broker contract management, technical disciplines, and client needs across home office and field project teams.
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural, and cross-sectoral team situations with a high proficiency of written, oral and presentation skills.
* Effective communicator, both oral and written.
* Strong leader and team builder/motivator.
* Recognized technical expert in one of the WSSH sector practice areas. Demonstrated track record of thought leadership through presentations at conferences, publications, etc.
* Understanding of USAID and other Tetra Tech clients, with a successful track record of winning, managing, and implementing proposals and projects.
* Demonstrated performance leading and/or writing winning proposals.
* Demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction, through technical excellence of work products and/or managerial strengths in scope, schedule, and budget.
* Speaking and reading proficiency in at least one foreign language is preferred, especially French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic.
* Availability for 20–30% international travel.
* Current U.S. work authorization is required at the time of application.

We are committed to taking a thoughtful, compliant and equitable approach to employment compensation and rate setting. The anticipated pay range for this position is $125,000 to $160,000 annually.
