Job Description:
Work with the Trade & Commodity Finance (TCF) team in the execution and structuring of new finance transactions across the full spectrum of commodities including energy, metals, and softs trading companies. Assist in the sourcing of new commodity merchant clients for the growing Trade & Commodity Finance portfolio. Monitor existing portfolio of lending exposures ranging from large, global commodity traders to small and mid-size regional merchants. Support existing client relationships both in the core lending products (borrowing base, unsecured RCF, transactional lending and payment undertakings, letters of credit) and through “cross-sell” initiatives with Financial Markets, M&A, Advisory and DCM. Monitor market developments and trends and identify new commercial opportunities. Maintain relationships with other banks active in the market. Assist in all stages of origination and execution of individual transactions including: prepare and present transactions to the commercial approval platform; assist in the structuring financing solutions for existing and prospective clients; assist commercial negotiations; credit analysis (including preparation of credit applications and annual/quarterly reviews); build a rapport and positive dialogue with credit risk management; execute Admin/MLA function for lead deals; coordinate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders including cross-sell product teams and Syndications; legal documentation negotiation and execution process; coordinate administrative and monitoring processes; process amendment and waiver requests; ensure timely risk ratings and reviews of the existing credit portfolio. Responsible for customer due diligence and compliance-related tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in any finance, business or engineering field and minimum 3 years of TCF banking industry experience. Must have experience working with: commodities for food and agri industry or energy and metals; TCF banking products, offerings and capabilities including borrowing bases, pre-export finance products, hedging, deposits, and FX; negotiating complex international transactions and conflict arbitrations credit applications; impact of bank regulation models on capital consumption and market fluctuations including FX, rates, and commodity prices; all stages of deal execution including preparing pitchbook presentations, market reads, and credit approval packages; origination and structuring of complex, multi-layer client finance lending transactions; drafting term sheets; utilizing FINAN, GRID, Risk Rater, Vortex or similar; and managing global client relationships.
