What you need to know about the role:

This position will be responsible for supporting the Global Internal Audit Team through the Professional Practices, Issue Management, and Reporting Program in areas such as audit reporting, issue management, board and Committee reporting, and annual planning/risk assessment.

The position will report directly to the Manager of Audit Operations based in Austin, TX and will be part of the global Internal Audit function. The Internal Audit team is an independent and objective function guided by a philosophy of adding value to the operations of PayPal. The department assists PayPal in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organization’s governance, risk management, and control processes.

Job Description:

Assist in Internal Audit reporting to support the department’s internal and external reporting commitments, including reviewing audit reports issued to senior management and stakeholders, development of quarterly Board and Committee materials, internal dashboards, and internal stakeholder reporting 

Conduct quality reviews over the issue management program to ensure proper tracking of audit issues 

Contribute to annual planning and the review of budget and resource management for the department 

Oversee the audit GRC tool including ensuring the tool supports relevant policies and procedures 

Assist in the development and implementation of issue management audit methodologies, procedures, and standards in alignment with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA standards), industry best practices, and regulatory requirements 

Contribute to the development of training and professional development programs on topics such as audit procedures, professional standards, and QAIP initiatives 

Host department-wide events and initiatives, including trainings 

Continuously assess and enhance audit processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness in line with IIA standards 

Pro-actively developing and maintaining strategic partnerships within the Internal Audit team, the business and respective support areas across PayPal 

Support project management and implementation of large enterprise initiatives for the Internal Audit team  

Develop and maintain constructive working relationships across the Global Internal Audit Team and audit stakeholders globally 

 

What you need to bring: 

 

Experience Required: 

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3+ years of External Audit or Internal Audit experience within a large and high growth company that provides financial products and services, and proven experience in project management and audit management.  

 

 

Skills Required:  

 

The successful candidate must possess: 

 

A key understanding of the IIA standards and professional practices 

A customer service mindset to support global team members with various requests and methodology guidance 

Proactive approach driving metrics-based reporting and seeking ways to add value 

Excellent relationship and communication skills to be a change management agent and build internal networks within the team and wider company 

Team player with excellent time and project management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once    

Have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards 

Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions to complex projects 

Passion for understanding the unique PayPal community, along with a passion for understanding the online payments business 

 

Highly Desired: 

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with Public Accounting or Financial Services experience 

Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI  

Experience with audit management and GRC tools, such as AuditBoard or ServiceNow 

Certification in one or more of the following: CIA, CPA

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$52800 to $136510
