We believe that inclusion helps us thrive and grow at United across our collaborative Finance teams consisting of Financial Planning & Analysis, Internal Audit, Treasury, Global Procurement, Controllership, Investor Relations and more. These teams provide the financial fuel that keeps our operation running from providing detailed analyses of financial planning, performance, and forecasts to managing our investments and financial strategies. Our Finance team plays an integral role in making our airline profitable and successful by meeting our financial goals.

Internal Auditors look at our organization objectively and provide feedback on areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities: Responsible for performing various operational, financial, regulatory, SOX and accounting audits to protect corporate assets and ensure accurate internal controls are developed and maintained in the companyPlan, develop and implement an audit program to adequately identify and assess risksWrites audit programs for risk-based audits that are relevant to United’s control and risk management framework, strategic objectives and key partner requestsApplies data analysis to draw conclusions Prepares written communications such as audit reports, partner correspondence, memos and other working papers that detail the procedures performed, findings and conclusions Communicates, both written and verbally, progress of audit objectives and testing with partners, audit project team members, and/or the Audit Manager on a timely basisLead other audit team members in their responsibilities to ensure quality of work and compliance with internal audit standardsAssists with special projects, contracted services and other agreed upon procedures requested of the Internal Audit departmentDevelops and maintains productive client, staff and management relationships through individual contacts and group meetingsDemonstrates ability to adapt audit approach to changes in the audit plan, company strategy or department goalsWork as a trusted business partner to improve other departments financial, procedural, and/or operational controls through independent, objective assurance and advisory services

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Accounting, Finance or related field2-4 years experience in internal audit or public accounting Knowledge and skill in applying internal auditing principles and practices, with a focus on supporting risk management activities and functionsKnowledge of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) promulgated by the Institute of Internal AuditorsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate optimally, both in written form and verballyAbility to understand and present sophisticated processes to various partnersStrong project management skillsAbility to travel domestically or internationally, up to 25%Strong solid understanding of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and Access Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master's degreeSeeking CPA, CIA or other relevant professional designationFamiliarity with data analytics, visualization and/or dashboard tools, such as Spotfire, PowerBi, SQL, etc.Direct experience in the transportation field
