**Senior Automation and Operational Technology Engineer** **Senior Automation and Operational Technology Engineer – Indianola, PA** **PURPOSE** This role provides support for PLC based control systems and other digital solutions, including GxP software solutions, used in the manufacturing environment. This role performs a wide variety of routine and non-routine tasks including maintenance activities, lifecycle management, maintaining validation, compliance to IT programs and compliance to regulatory standards. This position partners with Site Engineers and IT professionals to deliver complete solutions to improve operational performance, support and enhance capability and deliver and maintain technology systems at the site. This role will also engage with the Site’s Digital Lead and help to develop the Site’s digital strategy. **Why Join Us?** + Be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and creativity. + Work in a collaborative environment where your ideas are valued and impactful. + Contribute to exciting projects that shape the future of manufacturing. **YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Acts as technical resource to the site and engineering group to support and deliver digital and Controls Automation solutions to resolve manufacturing issues and improve operational performance; + Lead troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis to effectively resolve issues and deliver sustainable solutions; + Provide operational support, ensuring production systems and devices are online and available; + Provide interface with and oversight to vendors for discussion, consultation, problem solving and upgrades; + Provide support to large scale and lead smaller scale projects; + Gather and analyze system performance information to identify, design and implement process improvements; + Key member for the digital transformation at the Site and is the interface between central PH PS Digital Community activities and the site / function; + Supports the development and execution of the Site’s Digital Roadmap and Identifies required resources for Roadmap execution; + Provides input and commentary to the development and revision of procedures and policies relevant to the Cyber Security Program; + Maintains compliance to Cyber Security Program implementing procedures. **WHO YOU ARE** Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor’s Degree in IT Engineering, Computer Science or other equivalent discipline OR 4 – 7 years combined experience with relevant technology; + Experience with manufacturing process control systems, supporting applications, infrastructure and ongoing process improvement efforts; + Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills; + Experience with electrical and controls systems; + Experience in manufacturing processes, electrical systems, control systems, equipment and machinery; + Knowledge of good change management and software validation systems as they relate in a regulated environment; + Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming; + Thinks strategically and understands business value drivers and is eager to drive change; + Highly motivated and ability to work with little direct supervision; + Ability to establish and maintain strong, effective team relationships with multiple organizational levels ; + Effectively communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing; + Experience across areas including operations, engineering and IT; + Ability to support cyber security activities such as, system hardening, patch management, and configuration management. **YOUR APPLICATION** Bayer offers a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
