Senior Autonomous Specialist
Description

Transdev’s Senior Autonomous Specialists  are responsible for testing the newest iteration of software before it becomes available for the General Ops Fleet. Senior Autonomous Specialists  are expected to provide the highest level of detailed feedback for the developers. He/she is expected to collaborate with program  managers, and other Autonomous Specialists  for program work and troubleshooting, as necessary; compile changes between the software iterations, as well as stay apprised of the documented changes between software releases; and pay special attention to these changes during testing.The Senior Autonomous Specialist  is the bridge between Engineering and the Ops fleet. The role relies heavily upon the ability to translate technical jargon from developers into aconsumable form for other Ops drivers to understand.Key Responsibilities: Maintain Transdev’s high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle;Consistently demonstrate situational awareness, an understanding of the technology inhis/her care, and a willingness to constantly adjust to changes in the environment;Be the deputy for technology by communicating courteously always with management,engineers, and the public;Assist software progress by testing new features;Document recurring issues of new software and any potential bugs;Follow weekly release emails and bug reports to stay up to date;Communicate with Release Managers to understand new fixes and features;Inform Ops about changes when there is a new software release;Set the tone and example for less experienced Operations Drivers;Work professionally, respectfully, with clear communication with all dual driving partners;Safely operate a vehicle 6-8 hours a day alone, five days a week both independently andas a pair; able to sit still for long periods of time while applying premium concentration;Provide rides in the self driving car to the general public;Monitor multiple software systems with constant focus;Provide concise, clear, and accurate verbal and written feedback regarding the vehicle’soperations;Must be able to identify and understand entities and their behaviors in software;Complete daily reports and document procedures and tests;All other duties as assignedRequired Education and Experience:6 months of Autonomous Vehicle Testing experience preferred;Meets driver requirements, including driving record and criminal history under applicableregulations and laws in the state(s) in which the self-driving vehicle monitor will beworking.Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):Ability to parallel park with minimal assistance.Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.e. Gmail, Hangouts, and Driver, including Sheets and Docs);Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred by not required); andMust be able to type at least 40 adjusted wpm.Must have good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts;Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios;Adapt quickly to new and developing technology;Cross-functional verbal and written communication and issue escalation;Must be able to multitask multiple technologies, including communications devices and vehicle status systems;Travel up to 10% of the timePhysical Requirements:Occasional long periods of  standing, walking, and sitting Ability to climb stairs and/ or ladders, use of hands/and or fingers, ability to talk and/ or hear. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlMust be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsMust use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusMost work is accomplished outdoors in a vehicleMust be able to detect different types of objects based on different color graphics that are occasionally devoid of shapeMost work is accomplished outdoors in a vehicle. Pre-Employment Requirements:Must be 21 years old;Must have and maintain a driving that meets California AVT program and/or other applicable regulations and laws, which presently include:All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Safety Sensitive Positions will also be subject to a physical screeningTransdev maintains a Drug Free Workplace and may require participation in a random drug screening program.Transdev reserves the right to perform ongoing background checks for all employees except in states where this is prohibited by state law. Transdev will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.Employees must maintain an acceptable Driving Record suitable to being approved to drive as part of their regular duties. Records are monitored on an ongoing or regular basis pursuant to local state law.Ability to qualify for an Autonomous Vehicle Tester (AVT) license in states and positions where it’s requiredIf based in the United States, applicants must be eligible to work in the US without restrictions for any employer at any time as required by the USCIS.
