Position Overview:
The Senior Azure Security Engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing the security of the Chamber’s Azure cloud environment. This position requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in Azure security tools, processes, and architecture. The ideal candidate will work across IT and the business teams to ensure that the Chamber’s cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with or ahead of industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
+ Design, implement, and manage security solutions for the Chamber’s Azure cloud environment.
+ Build and improve upon capabilities in Microsoft Sentinel, Entra, and Defender to promote the overall security of the organization.
+ Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for Azure-based systems and applications.
+ Develop monitoring systems and respond to security alerts, vulnerabilities, and threats within the Microsoft 365 cloud and Azure environment using tools such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, and other security platforms.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into cloud architecture and application development processes.
+ Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
+ Manage identity and access management (IAM) within Azure, including Azure Active Directory, role-based access control (RBAC), multifactor authentication (MFA), and passwordless security solutions.
+ Stay up to date on the latest Azure security features, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve the Chamber’s cloud security posture.
+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and other stakeholders.
+ Prepare and present security reports, metrics, and recommendations to leadership.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field or equivalent experience.
+ 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Cloud and Azure security tools, including Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
+ Experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST.
+ Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
+ Hands-on experience within IAM in Azure, including Azure AD, RBAC, and MFA.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
+ Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, or CCSP are highly preferred.
The salary range for this position is $173,774.00 - $200,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
