We are looking for a Senior Back-end Engineer to join our Application Services team in our Hungarian office. You will handle challenging data problems on a large scale, contributing to the world’s best ecosystem for teaching and learning.
What you will do:Build and enhance company-wide platform services like our API Gateway, cloud-based file system, and notification service.Work with diverse technologies: utilize a tech stack that includes Java, Node.js, Go and Python.Leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS) for infrastructure provisioning, cost reduction, and traffic scaling.Write testable, performant code scalable to tens of millions of requests per day.Work closely with cross-functional teams through internal meetings and regular communication.Mentor and inspire other engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Required qualifications:Extensive experience in Java and proficiency in multiple programming languages.Experience with cloud-hosted, high-traffic applications, particularly using AWS.Experience with relational and non-relational databases.Demonstrated excellence in programming, debugging, architecture, and DevOps — our engineers design, build, and deploy their own code.Have strong communication skills and work well with others.Be proactive and take responsibility.This is an in-office team, working three days a week from our Kelenföld-based office. The incoming colleague is also expected to work 1-3 days per week in the office.
Preferred qualifications:Experience implementing API gateway solutions.Interest in learning new programming languages and technologies.
