Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for managing the API lifecycle and ensuring governance and compliance for a major telecommunications carrier. You will work on API security, integration with gateways, and performance optimization at scale. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions and resolve complex technical issues. Strong experience in API management, microservices, and cloud technologies is essential.

This role requires being onsite 3 days a week in Atlanta, GA

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in backend development, specifically with API and microservices architecture.Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.Deep understanding of RESTful and GraphQL API design principles.Experience with API management platforms like Apigee, Kong, or AWS API Gateway.In-depth knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT.Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.Strong database experience, including SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).Familiarity with CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.Experience implementing API security, including rate limiting, logging, and monitoring.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

Experience in the telecommunications industry or with API governance solutions.Knowledge of API versioning strategies and API lifecycle management practices.Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).Understanding of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or other industry-specific standards.Active contribution to open-source API frameworks or standards initiatives.
