Job Summary This position designs, implements, and maintains backup and recovery solutions across various cloud-based environments and on-premises infrastructures. The role uses in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of backup engineering to apply skills in a business environment. The role collaborates with cross- functional teams and may lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements. Performs work independently or with minimal guidance. May function as a technical lead on assigned projects. Work assignments are generally more complex.What You'll Do Deploys backup and recovery solutions across various operating systems, network-attached storage, databases, and cloud platforms using Rubrik and similar data management platforms. Works within broad guidelines to configure software and hardware components including servers, storage devices, networking equipment and others to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Leverages advanced expertise to optimize cyber vault capabilities. Collaborates with stakeholders across the business to gather and analyze requirements for data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Uses in-depth understanding of key business drivers and industry best practices to design and implement backup and recovery solutions that meet business needs. Partners with cross-functional teams and individual stakeholders to conceptualize, recommend, and implement solutions. Collaborates with IT teams to align backup and recovery solutions with overall infrastructure and security requirements. Designs architecture, recommends technologies, and defines policies. Documents procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting processes. Maintains and enhances knowledge resources to ensure compliance, consistency, and knowledge sharing. Facilitates infrastructure projects by ensuring backup and recovery requirements are considered and integrated into new or modified infrastructures. Actively contributes to all engineering phases from planning and design through implementation and ongoing operational support. Champions adherence to change management procedures, develops back out plans, and executes changes. Sustains high availability and reliability of backup and recovery systems by assessing performance, optimizing configurations, and implementing upgrades. Evaluates and troubleshoots complex technical issues and provides advanced support for timely resolution. Stays informed about advancements in backup and recovery technologies and best practices to continuously improve own skills and quality of work. Acts as a knowledgeable resource to train or informally mentor less experienced team members. Performs other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring Minimum 4 years of experience with backup and recovery operations required. Experience in an enterprise IT or systems administration role preferred. Education You'll Need High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred, with focus in computer science, information systems or related field. Certified Backup and Recovery Engineer (CBRE) or other related professional certification preferred. Hybrid Work LocationsThis role is a Hybrid opportunity, where you will be onsite 3 times a week.
